titlist conversion cuemaker

Who's the man to go to for a titlist conversion? The one I want to do is a 2 piece and is nice and thick. Looking to do it fairly simply, a few inlays and no wrap. I don't want to wait forever. Any suggestions? Thanks, Shawn
 
Try Joel Weinstock..at 918-744-1808...will make you a playing monster...old classic style..dense and very well balance.

JERRY RAUENZAHN

IMHO one of the best cue makers out there is Jerry Rauenzahn. Here are some links to cues he has converted and repaired for me. I still own them, except one that a buddy of mine had to have because it had the "HIT" he was looking for. I have other cues by Jerry and many AZers have Jerry do their conversions. Thanks JK. Looking at those threads makes me think you guys are right. Jerry seems to have a talent for resurrecting those old cues. The work on the wedge cue is IMPRESSIVE! I will call him tomorrow to check it out.

If it is going to be a simple conversion. Just a new joint, finish and wrap then i think you should try a cue maker whose shaft you enjoy playing with.

2 person comes to mind. Jerry Rauenzahn and Jim Buss.

Rauenzahn conversions seems to floating around all over the place so i would think he has a good deal of experience dealing with them which is important as there are alot of other consideration when doing a conversion and keeping it full splice and how to keep the points as even as possible etc etc.

Jim Buss does great work too. And his shaft are probably one of the best i ever came across and played with.

You can't go wrong with either of the 2. Of course there are plenty of other quality cue makers around but these 2 are the ones that i have had the pleasure to deal with before and is has been a pleasure.
 
Nearly any of the greats would be the way to go. You can get one done by a 'new' guy, but the will not appreciate in value nearly as fast. Getting one done by Szamboti, Gina, Black, DPK, etc., will give you a great player as well as a real investment piece. Among others, I have an Ed Young & DPK conversion that will NEVER be sold. It either goes with me to the grave when I pass, or gets willed to my kid(s).

On another note, I have to agree with the Jim Buss mention. The man is an artist and a scientist!

jerry rauenzahn makes the best cue fot the $$$$$. good turn around time and hes very good at the classics.

do you have a blank? depending on the quality of your blank (if you have one) jerry is great at getting the points almost even too

the "top guys" take way too long. u want the cue before you cant play anymore right ...lol

Seems like Jerry is the popular choice. I talked with Paul Rubino about doing this cue and giving it an old school look when finished. His prices and timeline were very fair. Anyone have a cue from Paul?
