titlist cue value question

I have a one piece titlist that I had Greg Kucharski start a conversion on. There is a rubbed finish on it now. The cue is 17.5 oz with a radial pin and one shaft.17 oz stamp and signature is still there. I want to try out other cues and am considering it for sale or trade. What can I expect to fetch for it either here or ebay if I decide to let it go? Opinions would be appreciated.

Since this is a player, I think the total finished weight of 17.5 is going to limit the scope of your buying audience. I know I couldn't play with anything that light, but that's just me. Can weight be added?
 
there are alot of ppl here that would be interested for the right price.
1 pc cues are a little more sought after bc there is alot of "meat" on them. room to work u know.

this doesnt seem too bad

things are only worth what someone is willing to pay

you could get 400- 500 for this id say as long as the points are ok and veneers arent splitting.

how even are they?

measuring the joint as is would help.

another cue maker could work with it or keep it as is

Im sure an ivory joint and hoppe ring will bring the weight up a little. Im pretty sure it can be bored and have a weight bolt installed. Although it would ruin the cue imo a wrap can bump it up slightly as well.
 
So are you wantng people to tell you what they would pay?

Several of us like it... Tell us what you want for it...

Iv only heard one estimated value from Dave, and I dont think I can let it go for $400.

Ok thanks, that's all I needed to know... $400 is too much for this one.. IMO

I would want it as a player, not to have redone

If I had that butt, I'd extend the bottom by 3 inches at least.
Take the pin out and re-collar it.
A new blank one from Prather costs like $270.
 
Can you give a better description? Do you have a close-up pic of the veneers? Specifically, to me I would need to know at least:

-Measurement of the joint
-Measurement of the handle
-Measurement of the butt
-Is the cue straight?
-Are the veneers even or at least close to even?
-Are the veneers faded or still bright?--Pix would show that
-Any issues with the tips of the points?

Price of the cue would be more/less, depending on that info. It is tough to shell out more than $400 for a blank to give to a cuemaker for conversion..especially after another cuemaker has already begun work on it and possible altered it. As a player, it would be a great cue, if straight/solid, but if the cuemaker who did the conversion was relatively unknown, that could affect the value also.

Ill grab a caliper from work and measure it this weekend. The points are pretty even and complete with one being slightly shorter than the other 3. The veneers are bright but the cue had final sanding which would brighten them. Ill do my best with my outdated camera Saturday.
 
iam not an expert on these but i have owned one byJerry Franklin,P,,barry szamboti ,mottey,and a few others.i think it is worth more like it is,a wrap would ruin it for me,it sounds to me like some people are avoiding your question because they want to buy it cheap.if the points are fairy even,and that is about all you can expect,if the cue is not too skinney and if the cuemaker is respected you could get $1500, if the cue is nice i guess you could get around $900.i would give $500 only to try and make a profit.This is at least a straight forward answer to a simple question

very true. 1500 is a little too high being the cue maker used.

it seems workable.

i look at it a not even being converted at all (valuewise). points are low enought that it can cut an inch or 2 down a butt cap added to make up and everything be lined up
 
I would say $650 is a fair price for it,Greg does awesome work,i have owned a kucharski and it played tip top. ;)

$1500, I wish, if TS or DS converted.
I still can be "converted" as you mentioned Dave, the points are low as recomended by Gk In case I wanted to have a butt spliced in the future.
