Tommy Kennedy

Tommy Kennedy is just one class act. I met him once and the two or three times after I ever saw him he would give me a big hi and shake my hand.

I can't think of one person's face I would rather see when I walk in a poolroom than Tommy. He has a glowing smile for everyone, and the most cheerful disposition of anyone I know. Nothing gets him down and he always has a positive outlook on life. How many people can you say that about?

What a wonderful attitude Tommy has. We should all be so lucky. Not only is he just about the most friendly and sincere person that you will ever meet, he is a damn good poolplayer to boot. It was no accident that he won the U.S. Open. The surprise is that he hasn't won more big tournaments.

Tommy is high on my list of the best people I know, poolplayer or otherwise.

Have you ever seen him "juggle" the balls on a pool table? SUPERB!!

Jay,

How right you are. In my 'shortish' 11 years in this industry I can say without a doubt that Tommy is the nicest, friendliest and sincerest person I have met in pool, period!

He does have some smiling eyes! When you see him, it always brings a smile to your face! His good-natured demeanor is infectious!

You MUST Be Joking........... ( I AM )

Yes, and it's going to come as quite a surprise to many, when America's Most Wanted profiles Tommy as the "Poolplayer Killer". Someone who has been burying his female victims on the sandy beaches of the United States east coast for 20 years, while laughing maniacally and grinning from ear to ear..
When arrested, Tommy was heard to say, " A flea walks into a bar and jumps up on a stool and......"

( remember where you heard it first....... :) )

Tommy is a great guy, I first met him in 86 when he was in town for a tournament, he played me cheap sets and did not mind if I asked him questions, he helped me out with safety play.:)

Everytime he was in town we would play together, super nice guy.:D

I felt really bad when Earl played him at the Flamingo and robbed him of 16K:eek:

He has not been back since then.

He had his car wrecked and his cue stolen that same week. I believe it is what turned him to religion. He was thinking about it and these were like signs to him. I don't think he ever gambled again. You should point out you are not talking about Earl Strickland. To be honest in that place, your Earl could have beat Earl Strickland. This was a long time ago is he still around? Seems like every time I ask that question the person is no longer with us. I can't think of Earls last name.

LOL

The end of that story is I immediately took the money and matched up with it. I paid Tommy back while in Chicago.

So............ we have to have your pocket picked to see your best game. I got it...... Each to his own........... These pool players are gluttons for punishment.

One of the nicest guys Ive ever met, somebody descibed him as a short stop on here a few years ago! geez

I have known Tommy for over 25 years. He is one of my best friends in pool and definitely one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Last weekend in Jacksonville, I was sitting with Tommy and Tony Robles when Danny Harriman came over and joined us. Danny told us a story about a time when he and Tommy roomed together at tournament. Danny said he looked over at Tommy and he was fast alseep - dead asleep - and still smiling ear to ear. lol. That's kind of creepy.

Here's a good picture of TK!
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

A Made Man ....

Tommy's got my vote too, as a class act and all-around good guy!

Tommy, if he was in the Mafia he would be a "Made Man." His name would be written in the "Family's Book."

As the days of this world closes each of our names will, or, will not be written in a book, the "Book of Life" mentioned in Revelations. For anyone's name not found written in the "Book of Life" was casted into the "Lake of Fire." (Rev. 20:12-15).

Tommy is a stand up guy and loves the Lord, and I hope you see Christ in him for he is a believer and his name is written in the "Book of Life".

I thank the Lord for men like him and may all men who read this thread examine themselves for there is a day coming when pool will pass away along with all the other things of this world we hold dearly, and we will each stand before God almighty and give account of our life as we leave this world and go into eternity.

I will however, put in a request for a pool table as I stand on "streets of gold" but I need some one pocket players to be there with me as well! As for Tommy, I will get to play him for sure!

Here's a link to Tommy juggling 9 balls on a pool table, in case anyone hasn't seen it.

My sister is an avid juggler (she has "qualified" 5 balls, or maybe done more than that by now) and she was mightily impressed. Does Tommy do regular juggling?

I concur with the good things said about Tommy! My earliest memories of him were the tournaments at the Golden Cue in Melbourne. He didn't even play in the tourney but matched up for three days. Voodoo and Uwate will probably remember when he came to Miami and matched up with "Little Steve", playing bar box pool and Jr Pac Man. Both these guys were closer to 5 foot than 6 but had huge hearts!

Met Tommy while I lived in Orlando, always a nice guy, very humble, does not gamble anymore, is a credit to the game. Nice to see people who are proud to be a Christian and willing to witness.

Tommy's a player

Tommy,
Congratulations on a great tournament. It was your best finish in a major for too long. Keep up the good work.
Your friend,
Wayne Agnew

I don't know what ever happened to him, next time I see Dale I will find out and PM you.:)

It was not Tommy's money. He had a backer with him from Orlando.
