Tony Chohan vs Dennis Orcullo

We play that way in Phoenix too. Just makes sense and no sour grapes about the rack.
Really ,, I'd say it should be like 9 ball 10 ball at least , spot ball player keeps shooting re rack is rediculas your don't rerack if the player knocks a ball in the opposing players pocket or leaves it hanging,, got to love west coast thinking

Pros have started playing that way and I would expect the official rules via onepocket.org to change to that also. I am from NY btw. :p

Little info

Just for you sweaters out there!

Blue Label Diamond table, 4 1/8" pockets, Simonis 860hr ( put on table a month prior to match so it is broken in) New Cenntenial balls with new measle cue ball, alternate break, rack your own, if ball goes in re-rack. race to ten each day starting at 3pm each day. race to 40. $100,000 in the middle.

now shut up and bet :thumbup::thumbup:

It's like that in Houston also. And I just played a set in Louisiana and that was standard.

I think spotting a ball after selling out on the break is worthy of discussion too. Why is one different from the other?
Low frequence/ high risk shot, easy.

It will be interesting to see what kind of action line develops.

Your adding way to much thinking ' the site it might freeze lol ,, it's all worthy of discussion for the ones with aptitude, for the inept not so much they can't see past thier nose ,,
Just curious has any rules taken away making the wing ball bank away from 14-1 or for that matter away in 8 ball like Cory did repeatedly in a turney last yr ,

I hear you loud and clear but I know that if I am gambling I insist on two things

1 - I don't want my opponent racking for me and vise Versa and all the rack checking that ensues

2 - if a ball goes in on the break it's because the rack was situated in such a way and I am not donating to that kind of charity. I think with a good rack that corner ball is not supposed to go.

it's also just not in the spirit of the game of one-pocket to make a ball and run from the break. it usually gives an insurmountable advantage to the breaker and cheapens the game a little imo.

Are you positive in that assessment is there proof of that , is there rules that uphold that and why if it goes does it not get spotted like every other game player keeps shooting a bad idea
If the player smashes the rack and makes a ball is that rerack also ?

I am not positive in any assertions I guess. I'm saying how I want to play. If you want my money you have to break those balls and out shoot me, not load the rack up.

it's also just not in the spirit of the game of one-pocket for your opponent to make a hanging ball and run from your break. it usually gives an insurmountable deficit to the breaker and cheapens the game a little imo.

I can see your point of view don't make swipes at mine like I'm stupid cause I'm not I've given thought to this it's just a point of view no more no less
You have 2 different things here one is turney play the other is money games. , my take is most cheap gambling stays with a ball goes so be it , bigger sets might exclude it
I'd lean to spot it player keeps playing as that ball could easily come back to a bankable ball for my opponent or maybe goes on the head rail as a better choice if it goes to the incoming shooter above the spot if the breaker holds table i would think that's the best choice in that case ,, it's just thinking out loud no more no less
