I'm here because I love the game. If possible, I want to learn more about playing the game than I already know &... I want to help anyone I can anytime I can to do the same, learn more.
Too many times, I can't find a 'decent' playing pool related disscusion to read. It gets boring when that is what you desire & there is nothing but degrading 'drama'.
I do not know what AZB once was, as I am only here since June 2012. If it ever was a great place to truley discuss pool, then I sincerely wish & hope that it returns to that. But... sadly I do not think that will ever happen.
It's kind of like a neighborhood bar. One really can not make it into the bar that one wants it to be. It just becomes what it becomes. That being said, one can enforce a dress code, issue warnings, throw people out, let them back in, change bar tenders, add a bouncer, etc..
In other words, the owner(s) can do their best to keep it a safe & friendly enviroment or forever have to deal with undesirables unlees they just close it down & move on.

not worried, that number is history in 3 days, i'm off to Europe and when I return sometime in January I will have a different number, actually I have the number just havent used it in a few years.

dont worry about me, Beverly Hills is very nice and I'm very happy. I'm not interested in working anymore-tax's are too high for me. I'm taking the next 4-5 years off and then moving to Monaco/Italy.

Trans Union, Equifax both f whom I reported all transactions to loved our biz model, The FTC never had a problem from 98-08 when we closed the biz.

It's nothing more than monkey see monkey do. All the media has to offer nowadays is negativity, misinformation and mistrust. I feel sorry for the generations that have grown up in this age of Negative media. I see more negativie behavior in one week than I used to see in year when I grew up in the fifties and early sixties. Our generation and our parents built the current infrastructure, there's allot out there to appreciate, but now, many just complain, not realizing what they actually have in life many fought to create.
In essence, our predecessors built and amazing country for us, now its up to the current generation to maintain and improve it. No different than someone purchasing a car for you, then only to hear you complain about problems, when in fact there would of been few if they would only you would of spent a little time taking care of it, pretty sad.
This forum is in deep decline. Those of us that actually like to talk pool must find a way to bring the dying patient called the AZB main forum back to life.
Even when members are spared the start of non-pool-related threads in the main forum, every thread these days remains a candidate to turn into something either offensive or useless. In fact, hijacking of threads almost ensures that even the best threads will become meritless at some point, uncivil posters are regularly and routinely defended, and offended parties are often told to develop thicker skin.
Sad times are these on the AZB forum, but if we all set our minds to it, we can turn it back into a pool forum. Let's use the Mosconi Cup to relaunch the main forum into somehting that is, once again, pool focused. No need to point fingers here, for we are all in this mess together, and we all have a role in making this forum pool related again.
We must not forget that even the most contentious debates can be conducted with civility and respect for each other, but those who persist in posting abusively devalue this forum.

Thing to remember are that public forums serve different purposes for different people.
Categories as I see them:
1.) ON TOPIC:
Some people want to keep things exactly on topic and relevant to billiards.
2.) MESS AROUND:
Others use the forum as a place to mess around and have fun and blow off steam.
3.) GET ATTENTION:
Others use the board to get attention.
4.) TROLLS:
And some even use the board to troll and mess with people to get under their skin and play mind games.

I thought about it long and hard before I posted it, you summarized my thoughts/feelings very accurately.
Its not the mod's fault in any event. I have seen forums go south because of mods. Thats not the case here. Banning people clearly isnt working.
Looking at the solution, not the problem-I have no answers. If I did i'd share them.
the pool is 36 yes's and 5 no's. It shows that it takes a very few people to screw things up for those who do care.
Another intersting thing happened the other day, I knew ahead of time about the BB delay and why, in a VERY long thread I explained it very clearly the why and whats of what was going on. Nobody questioned me, I was just blasted for being the village idiot. I only know Larry, and the inspectors who are giving him shit for the past 7 months, I sold a house a mile from BB last year. I really knew what I was saying, then the next day there is a press release from Larry/BB that validated everything I said here FIRST. Now why in the world do I have any motivation to post anything if all i'm going to do is catch shit for it, especially when it was factual information NOT a OPINION!!! It's a waste of my time when what I say falls on deaf ears?(now please quote this in a post and say "HUH?") THATS THE STUPID SHIT RUINING AZB> period.
