Too Much Drama

Is AZB just to much drama to fade?

  • Yes, I hope it comes back to being the BEST pool forum

  • No, I love the drama & cant get enough, I love to knock everyone & everything

Personally, I like some drama.
The forum should exist somewhere between apathy and flaming.

But I could get tired of polls....many of them have a built-in bias...
...akin to voting in a one-party election.

Of 'polls' and it's homonyms (poles, pulls, Poles, etc.).....
...I prefer the ones that say 'dobre'...

Is this still a pool forum or ????

somebody let me know when its a pool forum again, just call me 702-241-8000

It's been almost three years since I've been on here, and it's exactly the same, same people involved

You're right @ poorly constructed polls PT. It takes being truly well thought out if we hope to get data that means a dam.

Regardless of the poll question. AZ was, and still is the best pool forum out there. To think otherwise is ludecru..., ludacru..., silly.
What almost always happens (sometimes) is we get a little bored with the mundane ramblings of stuff like, "What's the best tip for my cue?", or "What's your favorite wrap color?", or (here's a good one) "I only started playing pool yesterday. Which low-deflection shaft should I buy?"
To counter act that boredom certain members (you know who you are) start stirring the pot, as it were, in order to liven things up a bit. The trouble, of course, is the pot gets overstirred and the shit starts going everywhere. The swat team gets called in, all hell breaks loose for a few days, then life around here slowly drifts back to normal. It's happened before, and it will happen again.
So. Regardless of the poll question. AZ was, and still is the best pool forum out there.

Hey Tramp,
You are right about AZB, being the best pool forum in the world.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

There have been too many threads that overall have a negative tone. Perhaps a reflection of our lives in general. Perhaps a reflection of the pool world. The economy. Whatever the reason, if most threads were positive and uplifting, the drama would then be viewed more as entertainment and not vindictiveness.

This place wouldn't be the same if we didn't have our weekly Drama thread to play on.

When one thread gets deleted, resolved or dies out, we are sitting on the edge of our computer chairs waiting impatiently for the next one.

I know it, you know it so just admit it, we love our weekly Drama thread. We can only exist for so long playing dinks and bums on the tip, chalk or shaft threads. We need something to sink our fangs into.

Not trying to Beep my own horn here but I am probably one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. But on a forum such as this one, get me going and I can flame with the best of them. No big deal, tomorrow is a new day.

We could apply equal consternation to the fact that you have been here much longer and have made relatively much less contributions.
ENGLISH mixes it up pretty good.

This is not meant to be insulting, everyone's point of view is valuable.
...speak up more often

Fair points, I was just surprised. :)

This forum is in deep decline. Those of us that actually like to talk pool must find a way to bring the dying patient called the AZB main forum back to life.

Even when members are spared the start of non-pool-related threads in the main forum, every thread these days remains a candidate to turn into something either offensive or useless. In fact, hijacking of threads almost ensures that even the best threads will become meritless at some point, uncivil posters are regularly and routinely defended, and offended parties are often told to develop thicker skin.

Sad times are these on the AZB forum, but if we all set our minds to it, we can turn it back into a pool forum. Let's use the Mosconi Cup to relaunch the main forum into somehting that is, once again, pool focused. No need to point fingers here, for we are all in this mess together, and we all have a role in making this forum pool related again.

We must not forget that even the most contentious debates can be conducted with civility and respect for each other, but those who persist in posting abusively devalue this forum.

As usual, well thought out and well said. This has always been your typical type of post and I mean that in a very positive a respectful way.
Things change and sometimes just not for the better.
OHB is gone, as is SJD, Billy I, Blackjack, John Schmidt, Timberly, Linda Carter,
and many others. It used to be fun and informative, but now is neither.
Oh well, nothing lives forever!

I spend a lot less time on this forum anymore due to all of the drama. It just gets old...

I know I'll catch a ton of heat for this from the legion of Fatboy suck-ups but let's just say there is an intense irony present when a poll about 'too much drama' is started by a guy who says "call me when it's a pool forum again"... the same guy who has pulled the "I'm retiring from AZ" crap before.

It's an online forum Eric. Drama will always be present. Even OFFLINE there is always gonna be drama. But starting a thread suggesting that you're done with this place because there's too much drama = adding to the drama.

Yup, too much drama. In fact this is the first time I have posted in maybe a month or so, I'm just tired of all the same crap from all the same people.

See ya next month!

I agree. I stopped posting regularly for a few months. Then I come back all hell breaks loose

observation from the deck of captain obvious:

it seems like if 'so many' people are disatisfied with the content recently they'd just post more goodies to dilute the poo. or at least to get it bumped down to page 3bazillion.

if you're not contributing, then yes, you will be left with nothing but other peoples boredom and drama.

Aweful strong words for a Saskesquatchian!

Keep warm, my friend!

I'm here, doesn't that mean anything?

SJD stops by once in a while to step on somebody's nuts, so it's ok.

Many of the predecessors were the ones that made AZB what it was. That meant attracting many new members. You can't just fill up the pool hall and then complain that the hall is full, can you? Well, I guess you can, but.. uhh..

There's still plenty of information and fun for all.. even the trolls!

I agree. I stopped posting regularly for a few months. Then I come back all hell breaks loose

Coincidence? :D

I like you all.. even the ones I don't like aren't too bad.

I wouldn't even know half the stuff I don't know if I wasn't here to not know it.
