Refund

The shafts were sold unplayed. If the buyer still has one shaft unplayed it should be full refund. If he has 2 unplayed they should be both refunded. If they were used and played to the buyers satisfaction it is a little late for anything. But no matter how it is handled the buyer should explain why the shafts were just fine until told he can't read. That isn't anyones fault but his.
Please PM me a price for one shaft. I have a nice R cue that they should fit. I like Jerry's shaft wood better but maybe I can use it at a discount for being played.
Thank you,
Nick :)

Wrong

The thread was misleading.....I inquired about these shafts when they were 1st made available....I myself assumed the shafts were made by Eric Crisp......If I was in the buyers situation.....I would request some sort of compensation.....period

I totally agree and on top i gave him a deal and still no responds or pm

I just want to say that i read and remember that thread and understood what the shafts were perfectly...............

IMO the seller has an unhappy buyer. Therefore he should do the right thing and give a refund. It will also help the seller by adding to his reputation.

Post a address for compansation, unless the shafts have been modified from their original condition or if they are blued from use etc. In that case there will be no compensation from me........ once you continue to use a product and/or tell the owner your more than satisfied with that product, no return, try returnng something like that to your local Walmart.

Phil I have stood up for you many times in the past and I just can't do it on this one.

I should state that I have done deals with poolplayer1111 and he is a completely honest guy and wouldn't try and back out if he didn't truely feel he had been wronged.

Your original post should have read somthing like

2 shafts completed by master cuebuilder Jerry -R- from Sugartree Diamond grade dowels followed by the specs.

I would give the customer his money back because he did not recieve what he thought he was buying and the post is misleading IMO.

I'm sure there are buyers out there for the shafts as the are and the little bit that it would cost you in the end would be made up for in positive rep for doing the right thing.

I did not know that, you can express satisfaction, use an item, then return it 90 days later at Walmart for a refund? Thats quite a deal, I don't shop their myself, too many snowbirds.
Since these shafts were not purchased from Walmart, but from me, like I said
IF the shafts are not modified, blued from use, dinged, dented etc, post the address for compensation.
Heck I have no desire to even see a cue ball, but I'll see this through to the finish first.
Believe me the more I read, the less I ever care about playing again...... If anyone is interested in two shafts for $200 plus actual shipping post here. I'll send the $200 plus add to it to equal the initial cost, that is if I receive the unmodified shatfs back in the condition in which they were sold.
my address for them is;
Phil Henderson
204 West Rose ave.
Foley, AL. 36535

doug for the record i love the shafts but its not what i thought i was buying. if you bought a balabushka for $10,000 and swore it was the best cue you ever had then found out by an expert that it is a 1970's knock off by another cue maker how would you feel? im not trying to make mountains out of molehills here. if he doesnt want to issue a refund thats fine with me. but does it make it right? i have done a deal with phil before in which he made good on. i have no ill will towards phil and if he goes to valley forge this year i will gladly buy him a few drinks. my big problem is i bought something that isnt what i expected and i sold to another az member because of this misrepresentation.
I edited my post and have changed my opinion on this situation, This was not nine months ago and I also agree that the post was misleading after reading it.

Explain why I should issue a refund when my for sale post states 2 shafts from Sugartree Diamond Dowels?

Dont ask if you dont want to know others opinions.

There was a misunderstanding.
Give the guy a refund and resale the shafts.
If you made them then you can recondition them back to like new.

When I sell shafts that I made they are "WilleeCue" shafts and I do not say where I got the wood unless asked.
The ONLY reason you gave that information was because you thought "sugrartree" would add to their value.
Be a bit more careful next time you use anothers name to add value to what you sell.
You used bad judgment doing that ... do not use it again.
Give the guy his money back.

I would like to preface this post by saying that I have never had any dealings with this seller, I do not know this seller and as I live in the UK am not likely to meet this seller at any point.

After reading the wording of the listing, I do not think it is unreasonable for a buyer to mistakenly believe they were purchasing sugartree shafts. The wording of the listing could, fairly in my opinion, be seen as ambiguous.

As I do not know the seller, I am not qualified to say whether the wording was intentionally ambiguous or merely a mistake.

I am concerned however by the seller's post in this thread, which do not address the buyer's concerns but instead try to attack the credibility of the buyer's opinion, would discourage me, if I had the intention to, from buying an item from this seller.

In future deals perhaps buyers should take more notice of the Latin phrase "Caveat Emptor". If there any ambiguities in sales descriptions, it might be wise to get confirmation via PM before buying, that is probably a good idea for all deals but does seem particularly important when dealing with a seller who make such glib comments as:

Would you like me to check with you when I word posts?

I've done it more times than I can count. Seriously.

The same person who expects a refund on these shafts sold me a cue he advertised as having 12.8mm ferrules, when I PM'd him that weeks later I sold the cue to Mike Gartland, who digitaly mic'd the shafts as being like 12.5's or less said, LOL what do you expect me to do about it even though I compensated Mr. Gartland

I would expect you to contact the person regarding any disputes you had with that deal and not to use it as an excuse to renege yourself of any responsibility regarding any future deals that I chose to make with the same person.

Then again I maybe hold myself to a higher standard.

I bought 10 of those from EC and WH. Diamond grade. The thread was well read and when I saw Phil's thread I knew exactly what he was selling. It was not misleading in any way.I am sure the buyer read about them as well, as a thread by EC garners attention from everyone here. What is the time limit on satisfaction? Is it 1 week, 1 month,1 year, or till death do Us part? It seems the buyer is in the 6th. month after purchase.

Two wrongs never make a right.

You can not justify your actions by accusing others of doing the same.
Who cares what sos and so did or did not do.
We are discussing YOUR actions and YOU started this post asking for opinions.
If you want creditability you must earn it with your actions and right now you are displaying a LOT of bad judgment trying to justify your actions as a weasel.
A weasel is as a weasel does.
Act like one and others will see you as one.
If that is how you wish to be thought of then you are doing the right thing.

I sell you any thing

2 months later you want a refund. I have to say that you will have no shot.
I have not recieved a PM price for one shaft.
Nick :)

Listing only Sugartree in relation to the shafts was misleading at best and larcenous at the worst. Do the right thing and give the money back. Just because someone took your bait doesn't make it right.
