Very clean! What tip is that and how do you like it?
Dan
The tip is Mueller's own tip called a Wengler. It might be the best breaking and jumping combo tip I have ever seen. It holds the ball well on the break, but also lets it loose on the jump shot. It is standard on the Rat jumpers and jump/break combos.

Nice

Not easy to get the grain lined back up perfect. He must have parted that with a friggin lazer beam.

wengler...interesting, haven't seen that one before. is it leather or some kind of resin?

The tip is synthetic, similar to a ferrule type material. It is named after my very good friend Darrell Wengler, who used to work with me at Muellers. He is active Army, survived a stint in Iraq and is stationed at Ft. Bliss

The bumper is actually going to be linen, with the Downey logo inlaid in the bottom!

how does it break compared to other 'popular' break cues?? i.e. gulyassy, bk2, stinger, etc.

and how much did it cost?

wow cool. love the flush and matching grains...very nice BEM too.
congrats! :D

I agree. Troy seems to be able to match grain like that very well. That cant be easy to do I'd assume! Troy really seems to be an underrated cuemaker IMHO. He makes a few cues that I'd love to shoot with. I'd love to talk to more Downey customers.

I would say that it's more easily controllable compared to the BK2. I have no experience with the Gulyassy. It is a one of a kind and would cost $400 + to duplicate it.

can you buy these wengler tips anywhere? i looked at meuller's, but i didn't see them listed

I can get them for you. I will have to check on the price. I can have it sized for you if you give me the the exact size that you need.

Chris

thanks, let me know. any size 14mm and up is fine by me, i cut them flush when i install them. i'll probably just want 2 or 3 to try out initially.
