trying to make shane van boeing look like a super star

well i was in olathe and dennis orcullo asked shane to play winner break 8 ball and shane wouldn't play. he wanted to play rotate the break. dennis told him to pick what table they played on... it was after the 10 ball ring game.
Yeah...well I was there when he played Orcullo winner breaks 8-ball in Las Vegas on Diamond table races to either 10 or 15 (little fuzzy on which) for 2k and he handed Orcullo his nutz two sets before Orcullo pulled up...so I've got a feeling there's more to the situation than you're describing.

everyone knows that shane is a great player. nobody is disputing that. all i want to see is him play someone who is going to test him. i think that as pool fans we all want to see him match up against the best in the world. is that too much to ask?

Well none of them are beating down his door to play.....maybe you should pick who you think has the best chance and stake them in an Action Challenge match.

my bad i didn't know shane flew to the Philippines to ask them to play? that don't mean anything. i never said shane was scared what i said was that dennis asked him to play and he said no. i know that he is the best player in the u.s. right now. but i wasn't aware that made him the best in the world?

I don't think there are many stakehorses that see playing Shane in a race to 100 as a good bet at the moment. Therefore I doubt if they are lining up waiting their turn.

Yeah and if he played and beat Bustamante - someone else would say "if he wants to prove he is 1 of the best I want to see him play Gesan - loser breaks - SVB plays 1 handed jacked up - and Gesan gets a hand span" just cause back in the 60's at jack and jill's - Beanie beat me that way
(race to 25 he wins 25 to 6) he got all the rolls! i couldn't buy 1 if I was in the bakery - I guarentee he won't give me that game today. some guys think Tiger is ducking all the good players too

Its the same everywhere you go. When your on top people want to see you fall. I have people here in town that won't bet a nickel but a road player comes through they will steer for nothing. They do it just to see someone get beat. Shane has done a top notch job of making himself a top notch player. He has been in action EVERY time I have seen him. The kid can't help he busts everyone he has played so far. I just hope he continues to get games without them getting way out of line. It would be a shame to see him run out of action. I do think that him playing Johnny would be a great great match. Archer has a level head, Powerful break, and has as many gears as any other player in rotation games. Good luck to who ever plays the kid. He's a hell of a player.

I NEVER SAID SHANE ISNT GREAT I SAID AS A VIEWER I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM TESTED IN A CHALLENGE WINNER BREAK FORMAT GAMBLING THATS IT EARL IS A DAM HEAD CASE THAT COULD OF WON 10 YEARS AGO AND COREY PLAYS GOLF ALL DAY IWANT TO SEE HIM PLAY BUSTAMANTE SOME AND I WILL NEVER TALK AGAIN
Im also a little curious as to why everyone thinks Earl would have definitely won agains SVB in his prime 10 years ago...it was almost exactly 10 years ago that Earl lost to Efren in a race to a 120 and Earl played phenomenal and Efren played like crap until the final day. And yes I know Efren is Efren, and he did make an insane come back to win it...however a little consistancy from the from him from the beginning might not have necessitated the sever come back, and even Efren has stated 9-ball was never what he considered his "best" game due to the break.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Earl couldn't or wouldn't have won, but even in his prime from the consistancy I've seen from SVB, I don't think Earl had to. Even back then he was susceptable to mentally breaking down (sadly it appears to have worsened as he's gotten older.)

I imagine Earl is probably to "macho" to do it, but I honestly think that some psychiatric help and possibly some medication, could and would bring him back to form...in this day and age 46 is by no means over the hill, especially not for pool!

Bustamante can't beat SVB now.
Maybe Pagulayan can.
Bustamante is the better player of the two (vs. Alex) on a consistent basis. In 10-ball, Busta is the hands down favourite. Alex has a WC to his name, but he doesn't strike fear into the gambling world the same way as Francisco.

Think again.
Alex beat Orcullo in Manila twice for big cash.

I heard he has a $10,000. standing offer to play anyone... and no takers!

If I had the $$$ he would get action, Id play him race to 11, 10 ball, on a 5x10 snooker table.

I didn't feel like Efren played like crap until the final day. In my opinion, the tale of the tape was that Efren wasn't doing anything with the break and Earl was breaking them like ... well ... Earl. In that barrage that Efren hit him with on the final day, he started making balls on the break - and he played nearly perfect to top it off.

It counts everytime no matter what.

Yeah, you are right. What I am trying to say is that SVB in NOT invincible. He is no doubt the best player in America right now but to conclude that he is unbeatable and the best in the world is debatable. At their level of play any of the top players in the world can beat each other at any given time.

With regards to beating some players in the Philippines like De Luna, Gabica, Luat. They are hardly the cream of the crop nor IMHO do they belong to the top tier. Kiamco beat him so does that mean that Kiamco is better than Shane? In the last tournament in the Philippines right after the WPC, there were 9 world champions (Efren, Alcano, Wu, Chao, Alex, Hohmann, Souquet, Archer, Immonen) and excellent players like Feijen, Corteza, Orcullo, Gomez, Stepanov but the top 4 consisted of 3 players who you would never expect to be in those spots. Players who you have never heard of beat world champion after world champion.

Don't get me wrong. I think Shane is great and the best thing that ever happened to American pool but I think his next action challenge match should
be against somebody who would test his skills. I recommend Lee Van Corteza, Dennis Orcullo, Bustamante, Alex Pagulayan, Marlon Manalo or Efren Reyes.
