trying to make shane van boeing look like a super star

We are working on the Action Challenge 3. We do not announce anything until it is certain and money is posted. The Action Report does not speak for Shane Van Boening, he is his own man.

We hope Shane decides to defend his title, and by all accounts he will, the next match probably will not take place until after the Derby. We are working on putting something really great together, these things are not easy to arrange. Factor in schedules and travel and you quickly see that getting 2 champions in the same place at the same time without a tournament tieing them up is not the easiest thing.

One thing is for sure, the Action Challenge 3 will be big.

We have plans for other events besides the 10 ball matches, look for some more info soon.

well i was in olathe and dennis orcullo asked shane to play winner break 8 ball and shane wouldn't play. he wanted to play rotate the break. dennis told him to pick what table they played on... it was after the 10 ball ring game.

Shane, perhaps his backers, want no part of Dennis O. playing anything.......yet.

That was then, and this is now! :)

I think that Shane has a slew of American backers today. Everybody loves a winner, and as such, today, Shane has no shortage of stakehorses. In fact, I heard one comment that MAYBE -- and I stress "maybe" -- it could be arranged for Shane to play Bustamante for 50 large at a date to be determined.

I believe Shane has been offered the same challenge, race to 100, with Dennis, and the offer was declined. I'm not sure Busta could get there, but what a game that would be.

BTW, the offer was a couple weeks ago.

Shane beat Dennis once already back in May. I wouldn't call that "wanting no part." He gets my vote for the best 10-baller in the world right now. I'm sure he'll play anyone including your boy Orcollo. But if you want to put a pinoy in the box, I think the smarter money is on Alcano.

To my knowlege that is false.

Dennis is welcome to come play. If he steps up and posts, Shane or whoever holds the title at the time, will either play or step down from the top. Simple.

We call it an Action Challenge for a reason.

Lol...again with the "why won't he play one-pocket." From what I hear, he's becoming a pretty solid one-pocket player but give him a little time. I mean he's just started playing the game.

What's with all this talk about getting these guys from overseas to come play. I think you might need to offer them a little more than 10 grand to have them fly halfway across the world. Yang and Orcollo are fine, but I'd have to say Shane, Alcano, and Niels are the hottest guys in pool right now. None of them live anywhere near each other so matching them up would take some work.

Not if they are already here because of the Derby City
Games.

SVB is a superstar in pool..no question.

That said, I think any action match with Shane vs a top caliber Pinoy will get a lot of interest. I personally like some of the Pinoys over SVB still. He is going to have to prove it to alot of folks he can beat the world's best and the original posters main point is a good one. As of right now whether SVB can beat the absolute cream of the Pinoy crop is not decided. Shane should move to Manila for a few months and battle with them all. It will do his game good and he will likely make money.

Shane will never run out of action if he decides to stay in Manila for a few
months. He will be tested again and again. Here's some of the action
Shane got when he was still back there in Manila, thnx to Toupee Jay! :D

SVB beat Romy "Salamin" in 9 ball (9-4) for 1000 pesos, and another grand
in 10 ball while giving the wild 8 (9-8). Romy is outside the top 100 there.

SVB won against 19 year old Mike Feliciano in 9-ball (9-7)for 2000 pesos.
They played even.

SVB beat Jeff De Luna for 2 dimes playing 10 ball. The score was 21-13.

SVB over Rodolfo Luat for 2 dimes (15-14).

SVB again over Ramil Gallego for 2 dimes (11-10).

SVB lost to Warren Kiamco for $3,250 playing 10 ball (28-17).

JAM: ya, it was sarcasm =_=
if anything Corey looks younger than his age.

Just pointing out nobody can claim shane only plays has-beens or guys who have age going against them (not that such a claim works anyway... there's efren...and even if earl got barbecued this week, he's no fish)

They just look like has-beens after Shane's done with them! :D

Were you staking him in this or did you just follow him around?

This is what I have seen online, heard about online and witnessed in person in the last 12 mos:

SVB vs Earl: SVB wins
SVB vs Jeff De Luna: SVB wins
SVB vs Luat: SVB wins
SVB vs Gallego:SVB wins
SVB vs Kiamco: SVB loses
SVB vs Bowman: SVB wins
SVB vs Corey:SVB wins
SVB vs Appleton:SVB wins
SVB vs Chohan (1p 9-7 Shane + gets a coach 2006 DCC): SVB wins

I think you got it WAY wrong on SVB playing chumps.

these are ALL gambling matches btw...SVB doesnt appear to be ducking anyone.

He beat Dennis O. also in Vegas for the cash.

Im also a little curious as to why everyone thinks Earl would have definitely won agains SVB in his prime 10 years ago...it was almost exactly 10 years ago that Earl lost to Efren in a race to a 120 and Earl played phenomenal and Efren played like crap until the final day. And yes I know Efren is Efren, and he did make an insane come back to win it...however a little consistancy from the from him from the beginning might not have necessitated the sever come back, and even Efren has stated 9-ball was never what he considered his "best" game due to the break.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Earl couldn't or wouldn't have won, but even in his prime from the consistancy I've seen from SVB, I don't think Earl had to. Even back then he was susceptable to mentally breaking down (sadly it appears to have worsened as he's gotten older.)

I imagine Earl is probably to "macho" to do it, but I honestly think that some psychiatric help and possibly some medication, could and would bring him back to form...in this day and age 46 is by no means over the hill, especially not for pool!

There was a real good roadman named Jim Williams who used to roam up and down the West Coast in the 60's and 70's. Real healthy looking guy, soft spoken with thinning blonde hair. Just curious.

How much is a 1000 pesos in dollars? Like 10 dollars? LOL.

$23 at todays rates. As of yr 2000 the daily minimum wage in The Philippines is P140-P280. P280 being in Manila (capital). That's roughly $140 monthly salary before taxes.

That Filipino was probably playing for worth more than what the amount suggests to you or I.

Does anyone know if Shane plans on entering the banks or one pocket events at DCC this year?

He's killing 'em at 8,9, and 10-ball but at some point you'd think he might want to stretch out into the other games.

With his success right now, I'm not sure if it would be too early. I understand if he would decide to just keep on playing his best games while he's playing as good as anyone in the world.

I wonder what an old schooler like Incardona, Grady or Freddie would say.

As far as the next action challenge goes, tell Yang to fly his ass over here and play on US soil :)

Yang has been personally invited to come to Derby City, with hotel and entry fees gratis. We'll have to see how he responds.
