!!
WOW, Miss a couple days, and miss a lot.
Although I can't condone the bickering on either side, I will say that Roger is VERY passionate to say the least. His english, really isn't the best, and with such a passionate person, he sometimes looses his cool. Maybe I read Roger's post toward Rusty a little different, but it seemed to me like he wanted to compare cases in good spirits at first. It was until prodded a bit that things went south, fast. I'm guessing Rusty would be willing to do a side by side comparison as long as it's done in good spirits I see nothing wrong with it. I'd love to see a side by side done of all the major builders. JB, Jack Justice, Rusty, It's George, Volturi, etc. I've been thinking it would be fun to do with cues too! I'm always up for product comparison, maybe we could put something together at SBE?
Roger really is just sharing his work. He is offended maybe a little to easily, but as this is the internet, and posts do get mis-interpreted. You will just have to take my word that Roger TRULY is the best kind of people. He is one of the most pleasant and passionate people I have ever met.
It is my opinion that Volturi does create the best case out there. It is a biased opinion, but I can say after approaching several builders with my ideas, and walking away from several for many different reasons, I ended up with a Volturi case. That's why I say it's the best, it's what I chose to get when picking a case.
As to the construction techniques out there, and products offered I have to say that any GOOD builder out there is constantly improving their products and finding inspiration from several different sources. I think JB and Volturi have the right idea with their padded interiors. They are different but have the same principle in mind. I didn't try to squeeze the top of a JB case but just tried to do so to my case and I couldn't. (Volturi 3x6) I'm sure JB cases are similar. I would say that of all the cases out there there these are head and shoulders above the rest right now.
I have owned upward of 20 different cases in 4 years, and I can say I have had things I would change about every single one. I think you will always have a compromise of one form or another with a case, (as with most every thing.) When I went shopping for my case, I took a lot of things into consideration when buying. The number one concern over every thing else was protection. JB and Volturi do it better than every one else out there hands down!
All of the above is my opinion and your's may be different than mine. FWIW, I would like to add, that I regularly carry $5000+ cues in mine, with no worry of protection.
best,
Justin
