Tucker Shafts

I was lucky enough to have Mr. Tucker make me a pair of matching shafts for a cue by a different maker. All I was interested in was playability and could care less about how white or clean the shafts were. Mr. Tucker dug into his stash and came up with 2 beauties. He took his time to answer all my questions and even engraved a set of joint protector for the shafts.

The packaging the shafts were sent in was bulletproof. The original shaft I sent did not have a joint protector but Mr. Tucker was kind enough to put one on before returning it to me.
There was a delay in shipping so Mr. Tucker overnighted the shafts on his dime just to make sure I received them today as promised.
A man true to his word.

Enjoy the pics.

PLEASE NOTE: I requested that Mr. Tucker NOT give me clean white shafts. I wanted the shafts to look this way and Mr. Tucker obliged. I wanted Mr. Tucker to have all the freedom in honoring my request for absolute playability.

Nice

It is refreshing to read a positive thread for a change. Too often we only see the negative experiences.

What were the shafts built for and you are going to have to post how they play. I am looking to have a shaft or two built.

They were made for a JMW cue.
Top shaft is the JMW shaft that I had sent to Mr. Tucker for him to measure.
I told him how the shafts looked was at the very bottom of my criteria for having the shafts made.

They sound like something I would play with. If they hit half as nice as they look, you are a lucky man! It is hard to find a shaft that has both spine and flex to fit one's game and style. Enjoy them and congrats!

I will post my review after I have a test drive with both.

Murray is da man!

I am a huge fan of his cues.

Congrats!

My Review

The shafts play great. Has a stiff hit with that "ping" after every shot. Plenty of feedback and predictable. Moves the cue ball real easy.
The shafts have Triangle tips on them.
The taper of the shaft feels good when bridging.
The finish on the shafts are as smooth as can be.
Well worth the wait and worth every penny.

Tucker

Love that Tucker Cue Works sleeve to protect the cues, that's first class. I've never seen those TCW 1 & 2 joint caps are those something new Murray is doing, I need a few.

They are a way for me to to quickly distinguish the new shafts from the original shafts. It does not matter now. I put the original shafts away and keep only the Tucker shafts in my case.
Not really sure if this will be a regular thing for Mr. Tucker.

I wonder why he uses Le Pro tips. Layered are all the rage now.
Does he know something we don't know?

The shafts have select Triangle tips on them. I'm not a fan of layered tips.

Glad you are enjoying your new shafts. It was a pleasure working with you.

I stand corrected. Now it makes sense why these tips don't play too bad. LOL
I am not a fan of layered tips either.
Great shafts.
Thank you very much.

Had a chance to really play with these shafts tonight. Played a 5 ahead set. These Tucker shafts are the absolute nuts. Real solid and predictable. I was able to play closer to center ball and still get around with more ease than the original shafts. Ping. That was the sweet sound I would hear. Taper is very comfortable in my bridge hand. I was lucky to catch Mr. Tucker before his next batch of shafts. Worth every penny.
