TV crews at the DCC

My final thought on all of this? I only wish that Detroit Whitey, CornBread Red, Fatty, Ronnie, Cole, Omaha Fats, and a few other beauties were still around to parade in front of the cameras.

Don't forget Peter Rabbit.....when a reporter was told about all the scrapes he was in....
...he said "You must really like this game to put up with all that."
Peter said "If you like this game, you don"t have a chance......
....you gotta love it."

Television wants drama more than anything and they will create it if need be, I have a close relative that has been in the business for 50 years. News, Series, Reality, Sitcoms....etc its all more less the same. To film someone and air them on tv is not a free for all, its not the same as the ticky tack nonsense people capture and lambast all over YouTube, FaceBook and all the other socially dramatic online sites. Companies like the History channel and ESPN are for profit organizations, and mainstream to boot. What about the people who dont want to be filmed, what about the fact that they are gambling in a casino and what did The Nitshoe have to say about it? Just food for thought.....

Congratulations Freddy! Ask the tv crews if they want to invest in a match or two.

That'll keep their attention.

It doesn't have to be much, just so they have a little skin in the game.

Best to you and yours,

Maybe the pig will never be interested in being a lady.

Pool has ALREADY been pummeled into the ground. IT CAN'T GET ANY WORSE!

Professional American pool players are disgusted, the fans are disgusted, the academics of billiards are wringing their hands in frustration so a little airing of some of pool's more entertaining aspects might put a needed spotlight on pool that will put a little spring in it's step.

So far, trying to teach the pig to wear lipstick, a fashionable evening gown and walk like a lady just hasn't worked.

I'm all for giving Freddy and the TV crews carte blance at the DCC. Isn't gambling what the DCC is all about?

Me too-never ever will i forget that final shot. The place did go wild though there was not a BIG crowd at that hour.

Great article I agree. Can you describe the shot again? It was tough to get from the article. Tks!

of course, Peter Rabbit. Or as little Miami told Peter when he asked Miami to stake him, "You no Rabbit, Rabbit, you a big doggie!"

I have never been able to describe it well as i didn't see it coming either. All of a sudden the CB and OB are flying around the table in opposite directions. After quite a few rails they meet and cross each other -missing by 2 inches maybe at mid table -Now i catch on as does the crowd and the 'OHS' begin as the OB is heading towards Efrens pocket (right side) and the CB misses the scratch. The OB just went in DEAD center with a little speed left over. Just another great Efren moment which no one saw coming-at least not me.

Cliff looked up to the ceiling just a little and began unscrewing.

In the old days I would turn them into backers.

This will be interesting to see. JCIN had some great comments. If this sees airtime, this will either be something really good, or really bad. I hope the good part of the game is highlighted so sponsors outside of the game will invest in it. If the bad part of the game is highlighted, good luck with the fallout. The Shane example would be perfect for TV now a days with how they are big on the anti-bullying stuff. Even though they are on "Fred's turf", meaning a pool venue, it is still their show and their call. I truly hope something like this helps our game, but it also has the potential to damage it even more than it already is. I hope to see them shooting at derby when I get down there. :)

Wow that article was really good. I can't believe I hadn't read that before. Rarely do mainstream articles or features on pool portray the game so accurately and use the correct terminology. Also when the writer said Soquet looked like Tweety Bird I about died laughing.

All I know is that someone is going to end up looking like Honey Boo Boo.
