I just received these two beauties from Wes today and theres a reason why you don't see many Wes Hunter cues for sale. These cues are absolute knockouts and Wes's finish work is among the best finish work youll see. If you like a crisp hitting cue with top notch craftsmanship you need to try out a Wes Hunter cue.

First cue is Bubinga and Hickory Burl with Wes's signature block style ringwork which I absolutely love. This ringwork is a thinner version of his normal ringwork but its very sleek. You'll see an example of his regular ringwork on the second featured cue.

Second cue is Rosewood and Curly Maple with his classic style ringwork with two veneers and the same rosewood as the handle. This cue is pure class.

**Checkout his bumperless design, you can easily unscrew the white piece and put in place a regular bumper.

These two are beauties!! For the past few years now I've been playing with one of Wes' 5 pointers. Awesome playing cues and outstanding workmanship!! Wish my 5 pointer had a hickory burl handle!!

The reason for me is two fold.

1. Nothing I own hits better than my Wes Hunter

2. Wes Hunter is without question the best bang for
buck cue I have ever owned.

I have been through over 100 cues in my life with
some of them in the several thousand dollar range, and
the Wes Hunter I bought for under 1K outplays them all,
and that included the fancy jp's

Really like the shape of his butt cap and the convertible bumperless design, that's really nice!

I have not had the pleasure of playing with his cues. I was lucky enough to visit Mr. Hunter's shop a few years back. It was very impressive. From building his own machines to dying his own veneers. A Wes Hunter cue is truly a Wes Hunter cue. Someday I hope to try one myself!

what is the meaning of the number at the joint face? "0908"?

what is the meaning of the number at the joint face? "0908"?[/QUOTE]

My understanding from Wes when I inquired about the same type of numbering on my shafts is that they indicate the year the cue was made and which number cue of that year. I can't recall the order at the moment but 0908 would either be the 9th cue made in 08 or the 8th cue made in 09. Mine was the first cue he made in 2001 and the numbering is 01001.

I could see that meaning the year the shaft was turned down but these cues are brand new, I received them from Wes on Thursday.

Ill ask Wes today what it means and report back!

Mystery solved. The numbers are just serial numbers for Wes to keep track of cues, no meaning behind them.
