Somebody may not get paid at the conclusion, unless they make a killing at the gate, but this venue, I've been there. It holds much less spectators than the Chesapeake Conference Center -- not that the center got filled up, either, though.
He did put 50 dimes in escrow, I think I remember reading. The problem is the lower amounts, the people who cash first, want to leave to save on expenses. They usually don't want to hang out the whole week. If they pay these folks, the money at the top end soon becomes bare bones.
I really do want this Open to work. I feel bad for Barry Behrman. He tries so hard each year. I know he wants it to be successful.
One nice touch is that he gives every lady a long-stem red rose at the gate on the evenings of the weekend.
