How many of you have been to one of their events? I've been to two so far, and it was fun. What are your thoughts about the Ultimate Pool USA?
I like their pool league with the 30 second clock. Heck, I might even join one of their pool leagues if I can be home by eleven.............

I have not made it out to one but as a spectator at home, I can honestly say it's the most fun I've had watching pool in a long time.

Joey I went to the Denver tourney and had a blast, I got to hang with Melling for awhile.
These big events don't roll around my neck of the woods very often. I think the last one I can remember is the one that you and your son came out for.

I think it would be a hoot for you to go see or even play in one.
Hope you are well and looking forward to our next reunion.

great tv!!
the shot clock/ game clock reminds me how the ‘hole cam’ made millions for online poker players

I like the original Ultimate Pool with the constant shot clock in the background and the rounded pockets, they have the best 8 ball players on the planet, so surgical! I cannot stand the constant advertisements for the leagues but I really liked the mixed scotch and the funky partner pairings made it very fun to watch!! The more top Americans that get involved hopefully the more top players from the UK will also come over, would love to watch some gambling matches, especially some speed pool with Tony Drago vs anyone!!!

I think they are the future for pool in the US. Haven't gotten to any event but would love to go.
How long will it take them to pass the APA and CSI (combined) in player membership? I'm pretty sure their goal is to have a large league.

sounds like ultimate pool usa will be helping to advertise a new pool game this fall with a new style of ball and rule set-

Never made it to one. We have a tour here in California that is way better.
huh?? the only tour in cali is oscar's deal, right? good tour from what i hear but nothing on the scale of what UP is doing. UP should be a big hit in nutjob-central Kalipornia based on their recent comments/stance on transgenders in pool. ;)

I'm hoping they come to Chicagoland, but it does not seem like any major pool events want to come here. I'm pretty sure I know why.

I have no clue what you're trying say but if some room/location decided to have one in Chicago i don't see any roadblocks to it happening. Just what do you think is stopping pool from going to Chi?? The UP tour goes to AZ, Colo, Missouri, Iowa,Kentucky and Louisiana to name a few.

I also don't see roadblocks to puling it off and there's a strong pool scene out this way. I meant it from a stance of Chicago's known stigma of violence and political corruption.

You really think they look at a city's political scene when looking to hold a tournament? yeah right. as for violence every big town/city has a bad part of town. 99% of Chicago is nice, you just don't go south into the projects/hood. they've gone to places that have localized crime issues, just don't see either of these aspects as a reason for an event not happening in any given place.

Jim, I was at one of their events in Shreveport, LA and there were 128 players. I'm playing like a mad man, and the tournament director comes up to me and says, "Joey, you've made it to the final 32 players, and so you are in the money already!" I was kind of shocked, but I had some really close matches and was happy with my play. A little later, I learned that the final 32 was SINGLE ELIMINATION. My first match, yeah, you guessed it, was with Chris Melling. At least I made him come with it, and yes, he won the event, but I still went home with a smile.

Lucasi Tour is active. But seems like the dates don’t get announced that far in advance etc…
Evidently their PR person is inactive. There's a FaceBook page, but it doesn't seem to have a schedule. The schedule is also not on the AZB calendar. The stops seem to have a standard format of nine ball, nine on the spot, $4000 added (less greens fees).

I see on YouTube that Stop #6 was played two weeks ago. Here's part of the stream.
