Unbelievable, A True Upstanding AZer

I believe this is the best place to post this. A while back I started a thread looking for a Brunswick 1 piece butterfly splice cue or blank that anyone has for sale. I was planning on converting it to a jump break. (I'm not a rich man, I was going to try to find someone to do it cheap). I got no responses so a little while later I started a new on the "ask a cuemaker" section and got few replies. It seems that what little 1 piece cues or blanks out there people want to hold onto them. Anyway, what few PMs I got were good but AZ member desi2960 (Chuck Starkey) PMd me saying he found a 1 piece in his shop and was wanting to send it to me free of charge. Of course I jumped at it figuring he might forget or couldn't find it. It arrived today via priority mail. It's everything I could have ever have wanted. A full 2 point butterfly spliced old Brunswick cue. Without typing this I am speechless. The generosity overwhelms me. Huge green reps to Mr. Starkey. I just might send it back to him to have converted. I know he makes a hell of a cue. Everyone look him up. Give him your business, or at least some rep. We all need AZers like him and cuemakers of his quality. Thank you Mr. Starkey. I don't know how to repay you but I promise this will come back to you ten fold.

wow

you just made my day with that story. Rep to Mr. Starkey, and thanks for the report.

Brian & Chuck Starkey

Brian,

I do not know Mr. Starkey but I had heard great things about him and his cues from good people.

I also want to comment that you're not a bad member yourself.
The j/p's donated by you when Jim Baxter's wife was in the hospital was a very kind gesture and deserves some recognition also.

My only mistake was sending funds to his paypal (jbaxter@earthlink.net) when it is actually jbaxte@earthlink.net...I guess there's no 'R' in Baxter.
I only made that mistake twice!

Great story about Chuck Starkey, but your good Karma is part of it too.

Peace

Ted

I'm glad you got what you were looking for. I know you were having trouble finding it. That was a very generous thing to do by Mr. Starkey. Very nice!

These are the group of people that I was hoping to become a part of. I'm glad I joined. Glad to see that there are still Great people like him out there.

cool!!!! glad you found one

when i first started building cues

i pay it forward whenever i can
great job chuck!!!

Good story to start the day with. But I gotta say this, there are a lot of good people on this forum. For every sh!t heel that screws someone on a deal there are 3 dozen that are stand up, good hearted people. My monetary dealings with people here are few but each of them have been fantastic and smooth. It really sucks that one or 2 people screwing someone over leaves an overall bad taste in the mouths of everyone else around here.

Thanks again for the story.

Chuck IS a man of integrity and his cues are the nuts.

I've been trying to tell you guys this for years now. My number 7 is in the works! :groucho:

This is the right kind of Karma..... great story..... Kudo's to you Mr. Starkey..............
