Unwritten Pool rules

Unscrewing your cue means you are conceding the match. Maybe it's written somewhere, I don't know?

What about the "glove"? I watched this guy peel off his "cueing glove" twice in one game, seemingly in submission??? That should be a concession in the 21st century???

Both times he made a comment about "how did you miss that girl?" How did you put her in a position to put you in the hurt locker considering 98 percent of the girls in the PI don't know what a safety is?

The girl won. That's why I don't play "league".

From WPA concession rules

1.11 Concession
If a player concedes, he loses the match. For example, if a player unscrews his jointed playing cue stick while the opponent is at the table and during the opponent’s decisive rack of a match, it will be considered a concession of the match.

Don't fart after you miss and leave a cloud hanging over the table for the other guy. :D

dont look for reasons to win a match, i.e. something your opponent does. win the match by winning each game at the table, not by watching what your opponent is doing when he is not shooting. that's why playing cash games at an unfamilar location by yourself ow with a buddy is so important in a player's mental toughness.

If my opponent breaks their cue down or takes their glove off, I ask them if they're conceding. They're sharking by doing this and I won't let them get away with it. If they reach into a pocket to get balls out, I consider it a concession and I do not shoot my shot.

WTF!?

Are you asking people about breaking their cue or removing their glove or are you asking people for other "unwritten rules" or are you just complaining about leagues?

If a man takes his cue apart....and it's a one-piece cue..

..I might neglect to mention that it should be a concession..:ignore:

There are a number of "unwritten rules" that I have always adhered to.

Obviously I can't put them on a forum or they would just be "rules".

I can see breaking the stick down as a concession...and it is in most rules. However...a glove? I really am not a glove fan, as a rule. I do carry one in my case, because there are times in the summer when certain locations do not have a climate control system, and the humidity can make the hands sticky...but as soon as I feel that the glove is no longer needed, it comes off. I do not consider it a shark or concession, as I am not making a big deal about it; waving it around or whatnot. Some players remove their gloves between innings because they actually make their hands sweat inside the glove. Honestly, unless it's being waved around like a flag...there should be no issue.

I think some folks are getting just far too nit-picky about every little thing. Have confidence in your game, and there is little that will rattle you.

Example: I recently had an opportunity to play a gal I hadn't seen or played in quite a few years. Never could seem to catch a win playing her. So, I'm waiting on her to finish her game with a fellow she was with...and she makes this long table kick to make the 8...damn fine shot. She turns to me and says, "I did that just to scare you." I told her that it was a damn fine shot, but that I don't get scared anymore and racked up. I took that game from her, and then the next one from the fellow she was with, who was also a fine shot. She said, "Dayum! You really don't scare anymore, do you?" I laughed and responded with, "Nope, I gots skillz...with a Z." We both got a good chuckle, and I then gave them the table back to play on and move to another table to play with 'the boys'.

After the game is over I grab the balls out of the three pockets of the table I'm nearest at the time and you grab the balls out of the three pockets on your side and roll them close enough to the spot so no one has to bend their back to reach them.

If I've laid my stick on the table while I'm racking it is not for you to touch or pick up and move out of the way. It is there so you don't break the balls in my face the second I lift the rack.

the glove
my hands get moist after about 45 min of play then i glove up.
there is no rule saying you cannot take your glove of to dry your hands or even take your glove off at all D@mm guys thats a little extreme.
