When do they start using shot clocks? Tried watching a little of Tyler match while I was on break at work, wow...his opponent drags out every shot.

I realize this is one of the biggest stages a pool player can be on, and the equipment is super tough, all of that. Still...that is really difficult to try and watch. I certainly wouldn't want to pay to watch if all the matches were dragged out like that.

Yeah he did blow it but props to Marc, he has elevated his game big time in the last year or so. I always looked at him at a journey man but again, he's really stepped it up in these super events.
His problem is that no matter how easy the lay-out, he will create difficulties for himself. Rooting for him a sadomasochistic experience.

Nevertheless, go Maaaarc!!

I stopped watching baseball games when certain pitchers were on the mound doing the bob n weave and the catcher going thru all hand signals more than once. Just throw the damn ball. The same with the constant chalkers, table walkers , piston cuists and bob n weavers. Shoot the ball
The newly introduced pitch clock in baseball this year has shaved off 24 minutes from the average game. It's now got a much faster pace.

But I totally agree with you about shot clocks in pool. At least with the templates you don't see players spending more time racking and re-racking the balls than they do to run the table.

How can they "require" players to stay at a certain place?
Did N.J. leave the United States?
I can't speak to what MR is doing but I know for a fact that the hotel stay requirement in many past events meant that the hotel then paid a kick-back to the promoter, and also provided an agreed amount of free rooms as well to the promoter. There may also be an advertising agreement as well. Very rarely has this type of agreement been made to benefit the players. If the promoter would have refused the kick-back, then the players could spend less for the rooms, but we know that never happens.

As a player, I used to think of it as adding to my own event's prize fund in addition to the tournament entry fee, or paying for the free rooms given to the event promoter.

Defending champ FSR facing early exit down 4-8
Albin also in trouble down 5-8 to old man Ralf

"Showman" Lehman must be most in demand ref doing double duty for MR and also Predator.

Starting to look like there will only be 3 Americans in the last 16, unless something turns around quick.

I think MR is missing something with the camera angles. If there is a way to show the audience, several rows deep, I think it would make the viewing experience much better. Not all the time of course. Clearly there are a lot of fans in attendance, but we see mostly only the table. Maybe they can't do that until the arena is rearranged?

In the past MR has been fully aware of the need to show the happy fans and took measures to do so. Tomorrow they will have bleachers up and the fans will be more evident.
