US Open Gambling Updates (please add)

He figures he can make more playing Dippy than the tourney I bet. It's just after the money is gone or when you have enough you think about the titles and your legacy later on in life. Thats when the action wont be worth it. It's a week long event, why not wait until you are out or later the beginning is the most important part. No tougher grind than the Open in pool.

Its the same mindset Keith had and he's a legend. If I were Alex, I would be in action too. $50k for perfect pool vs $????

I can give you several examples on why I mildly disagree with this and when i say mildly I mean 55% to 45% cause I favor action over a tourney any day. Not a debate I guess I just want the little guy to snap some big tourneys off and realize pool is his calling not all the other stuff hes doing.

Maybe Alex didn't want Dippy Dave to get into other action and lose his shot at him.

Oh for sure thats exactly what happened. Dippy is the only person who can ruin the whole Open if he wants to. He could prob get 5 of the top pros in the tourney to play him at the same time and stay up 2 or 3 days at a time.

Real question is who is getting aired? Also did Scott Frost go to the Open his name was on the player list.

maybe Alex just needs the money and is following the "bird in hand" analogy? 17-4 tho? holy frigin spot a million balls batman! :D a bunch of games must have a long line of balls coming down from the spot?!

I wonder if 15 balls fit from spot to short rail?.....BRB :) ok so only 11-1/2 balls fit from spot to rail. I wonder what happens? if you run more then 11?

You only need to spot enough balls to bring the table back to 15. 17 + 4 = 21, so he needs to only spot a max of 6. I believe... Someone feel free to admonish me if I'm incorrect. :grin-square:

Only has to spot 5 balls but you were really close haha!

I play real close to Dippy's speed but I'm not sure I would take that spot. It seems like a big spot but when someone plays Alex's speed, he can run out from anywhere and keep you in lock-down the rest of the time..

I heard Alex might be coming to Baton Rouge later on toward the end of the month. ;)

Nice try! If you are going to 4 then your opponent is going to 7.

17-4?!?! Good lawd that's a lotta weight. I played my wife some 1P once & kept raising the weight until we got to 12-3 and it was a heavy burden. One mistake and she won or was on the hill. I can't imagine adding another 5 balls to it. That Alex is other-worldly.

He wouldnt be going to BR toplay John Schmidt by any chance???

Thanks guys. I just saw this in another thread too.

Shane lost two sets. 17-10 and 17-16.

He wanted to play someone to get in stroke and the only game he could get was Alcano. No one else was in with him so he had some relatively expensive practice. The kid will ship it in a tough game.

Amazing that Shane how much gamble he's got.

John Schmidt has cancelled his appearance due to his involvement with a pool hall. You can't blame him. Alex is no picnic and business comes first.

I'm sure Alex could easily give me 17-4 but I would play hard to give him my best effort. I'm no Dippy Dave but he can win a bunch gambling with me at that spot. Hopefully, someone who plays far better than I will give Alex a run for his money.

1 Hole

Now Joey, don't get giddy thinking about that 17-4 spot. You know darn well that Alex would spot you depending on your skill level AFTER he judged how good you are, plus keeping 1 ball for himself, and it would be for BIG money.... LOL
