2018 US Open One Pocket & US Open Bank Championships to be held in Las Vegas

CueSports International, Henderson, NV (Sept. 1, 2017) --- CueSports International is excited to announce that the 2018 US Open Bank Pool Championship will be March 20-22 at Griff’s in Las Vegas and it will be followed by the 2018 US Open One Pocket March 22-25.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts and time constraints, CSI has cancelled the 2017 US Open One Pocket previously scheduled for December. We regret any inconvenience this may cause for players who had planned to attend.

The 2018 US Open Bank Pool Championships will begin Tuesday, Mar. 20. It will be a short-rack format using a 9-ball rack, double-elimination. The race will be to four on the winner’s side and to three on the loser’s side. The finals will be a single race to 5. The entry fee is $240, which includes a $25 administration fee and a $15 green fee. A minimum of $2,500 will be added. If the field reaches 48, $5,000 will be added.

The 2018 US Open One Pocket Championships begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 22, as the Bank Pool Championship draws to a close. It will be double elimination, race to 4 on the winner’s side and a race to 3 on the loser’s side. The finals will be a single race to 5. The entry fee is $350, which includes a $25 administration fee and a $25 green fee. $5,000 will be added.

Both events will be played at Griff’s, 3650 S. Decatur Blvd in Las Vegas. The tournaments will be played on 9-foot Diamond tables with Simonis 860 Tour Blue Cloth and Cyclop balls.

CSI will begin taking entries for the tournaments Oct. 1, 2017.

Will thee be a cap on number of entries in the One pocket or will you be accepting all entries up to the day of? Thanks!
 
The cap will be 48 players in each event. It would be nice to fill the field but I don't really expect that.

Just want a good event with solid competitors...

Hi Lou,

I guess I will see you in a week or so at the Mosconi Cup...

No one is signed up yet.
The events are not until March 2018.
We don't have the online portion completed - about another week or two and people can sign up.

oh, OK. I thought sign ups started back before October and were already open. Couldn't find any page on the CSI web site to confirm or deny.

WOW! You really don't think 48 people will play? Pros can play too correct? I was WAY OFF then, I was thinking if it were capped it would be like 156 or something like that. Has this event never filled up before ?

And although I have known you forever, and like you like a brother, I think I would have to have odds to put you in.........and to have my head examined.

getting a stakehorse is a lot tougher than i expected

just because Mark prefers to pass shouldn't discourage the rest
of you guys

while i have never actually played in a tournament before

that doesn't mean I can't win

For example,I have been feeling lucky lately

and if I get a stakehorse that would prove
how lucky I am

Wouldn't you like to stake a lucky player?

All kidding aside
I know Mark Griffin very well and I sincerely believe
he has done as much if not more for pool than anyone

When he opened Griffs in LasVegas,he not only made
it the nicest pool room possible but he laid the ground work

to sponsoring some really great things in pool

I expect him to host some championships and other promotions
that will exceed anything we have seen

I wish you the best with these bank pool and one pocket championships

Aside from your short sided move in staking my play,I think you
have started the ball rolling ,within the next few years I think
you will have stability and opportunity to pool

Just out of curiosity, is the 1P going to clash with the Andy Mercer? Assuming it wouldn't affect many players but just curious if it's going to be the same weekend.

The Rumrunner has no info up. You may want to call them. If it's the same weekend as last year, I think there is a conflict. If they end on March 18th, it looks like it would be a good fit.
