First time watching this event. Anyone else surprised at all the jeans (some of them baggy) and tennis shoes?

really glad to know i'm not the only 1 that buys these streams just to check out the occasional tuckus! fwiw i think the dress code should be changed to wife beaters and biker shorts!!

Nope, but it wont be attracting any bug sponsors any time soon either.

I don't think anything will be attracting big sponsors any time soon. No one cares about pool besides us. It's sad but true. Let's at least let the players be comfortable as they fade away into the sunset.

Did someone say yoga pants? Lol Britt Bryant is always got them on hahahaha anyways dress code lol I've noticed that a lot

I really don't give a sh*t what anyone wears but if there is any hope of ever attracting sponsors don't you think looking professional, as in a decent shirt and slacks, would help be a calling card? At some point there needs to be a grass roots movement to help the image of pool instead of just complaining that everyone thinks pool shooters are low lifes! JMHO ...

Why would a big company want to sponsor a bunch of homogenous stiffs dressed like school teachers?

The game already comes off as boring enough to the average spectator, and the world is headed in the opposite direction.

Pool players have a lot of personality.... let them be themselves.

No, but is it that hard to require so called professionals to dress the part?

Look at the entrants, and ask how is it not?

More of the players are amateurs than professionals. It's just a big open tournament. For the big invitationals, I would lean more towards a dress code.

I'm inclined to agree, but for example, let's take a look at professional bowling. If I remember correctly, (haven't kept up in several years, the format has likely changed) the tour stops start on a Wednesday and run through Sunday where the quarters, semis, and finals are televised. Wednesday through Saturday these guys may bowl up to 100 games to make it to tv. Having been to a few of these events, these guys would be dressed in shorts and tshirts while they grinded through the field. Come Sunday, they donned slacks and collared shirts with their sponsors on them.

Soooo, for pool players, I'd say it's cool to be comfortable during the early rounds but dress appropriately when the time comes

Not that I care that much but yes, I'm a little surprised that if there is a dress code jeans are allowed.

Nope, but it wont be attracting any big sponsors any time soon either.

Pool players always seem to complain about having to adhere to any kind of dress code. But the flip side of the crying is is when you open most of the Pool Magazines you only see advertising from pool products or equipment companies. Never have I seen a car, truck company advertising. A big time accounting firms, or say a company that makes fine whiskey, or bourbon. or any consumer products.

Yes in many ways pool players are their own worst enemy, and you one need to mention a reasonable dress code like slacks, shirts with colors, no t-shirts, no flip flop, no sandals, no blue jeans, no shorts, and the member of club BMW will cry about the dress code.

When I played at ACU-I back in the 90s there was a guy who always showed up in a tuxedo. He was a nice guy and a good player but everyone just made fun of the tux. To this day if I saw him the first thing I would think of is "Mr. Tux." Apologies if you're on here, I mean no disrespect. I think you had the right idea and the rest of us were dumb heads.

I think it would be a good schtick for someone to dress a little outlandish and have some tattoos and wear big jewelry. Or to show up at a tournament like the BBT wearing a tux. They would generate a lot of hate and snark on the internet and in person - probably more than anyone would want to deal with - but it would draw attention. And, love em or hate em, pool players as a whole need some attention.
