USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

paid?

Sorry Jeff, but the players you listed were not paid as of yet like yourself.
What is really bothering me is the assumption that Tony owns the USPPA.
My understanding was that Gene Stary and Tony had a 5 year contract to market and run the USPPA. I seriously doubt that there was a change of ownership clause in that contract.
The 5 years has since passed and Tony still goes around making deals using the USPPA like he owns it.
I suspect Amber Stary owns the rights to the USPPA, but since Gene passed on she has not been active in owning, running or managing the USPPA over the recent years.
For some reason, Tony had said that myself and Bob Jewett are among the reasons for the decline of the USPPA. During the 80's and 90's I was involved with the USPPA and Gene Stary setting up a governing board of review, writing articles about the USPPA for CueSports Journal, running large tournaments and lastly was on the Reno tournament staff at one time.
Bob was behind a rival group the NPL. We all coexisted running tournaments and growing at the same time.
When Tony supposedly took over, I made a statement that "We are witnessing the beginning of the end to the USPPA." I cut my ties to involving myself pomoting the organization. Watched the membership go
from 3,000+ members to currently around 200 of which only half is active.
Back in the day, weekly tournaments were plentiful. You could play in a USPPA tournament every day of the week and still not hit all locations.
Now I can only watch the end play out. Its truly unfortunate.

Still more bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sad....... :(

This statement says that Tony A will call all of the players this week. I was sitting with a couple of those players last night that did not recieve a call and some have never gotten a call. I am sick and tired of the way the players are being treated. Lie after lie.

I find it interesting when you read this statement, Tony A sounds like an employee now and there is no mention of the TWO CUSHION CLUB. I wonder if he is trying to shift the blame to the owner of the USPPA and duck and run!!!!!

It is time for all of the AZers and players out there to shut him down in the world of pool. Remember this is $25,000 dollars we are talking about here.

I have also heard that Tony A. is steping in to the Snooker World. I believe he is making this move cause the snooker world knows nothing of Tony. We need to inform as many of the snooker players out there who Tony is and what he is capable of doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would hate to see a black eye on snooker because a pencil wearing moron got involved.

As for the players that have been waiting for 2 months!!!!!!!!!!!! You most likely are not going to see a dime. This does not mean you all can't keep the pressure on Tony A. Call the Peppermill, Nevada Gaming Comission, Nevada D.A.. If you all put pressure on, one of these I mentioned they will be forced to put pressure on Tony. Who cares if Tony is overwhelmed HE SHOULD BE FOR STEALING MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This whole issue has put a black eye on pool room owners and promoters that run good tournaments and pay the cash to the winners. We invest a lot of money to run and promote these events and amazingly we all know our behind the scenes costs and don't have a BULLSHIT SHORTFALL.

We need the players to support us more now then ever. Don't let this jackoff keep you from the poolrooms and the tournaments that we work so hard to bring to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for reading,

Chris

I saw Jenny Lee yesterday at Hard Times. She had not been paid and her communications had gone unanswered so far. She is not a happy camper!

Why isn't Jeff Gregory in the USPPA player listing through their web site? I think I saw everyone else on the top of Bob's winners list but Jeff.

No, I mean he is not listed in the USPPA system. Go to their website and go to member info, type in his last name or search alphabetically and he is not in there. I checked a few of the others on your list and they are listed in there with their average, ID#, etc.

Many players were eligible to play in the USPPA Reno event even though not showing on the "USPPA Member database list" - I am not on the list, but was eligible to play in the Reno event. As long as you played in the "last" Reno event (2 years ago) and had the required number of score sheets/play dates you could have played.

There was a list of those that qualified on the usppa.com website, but its not there anymore; twocushion.com is still showing the requirements to qualify for the event:
Eligibility: Open to All USPPA Players with at least 21 Play Dates since last Reno Event or 99 score sheets since becoming a member

No big deal

List updated as of 2/17/2011

But a couple of points.
Payoff would be 33-48 (16 spots), paying to 49 would go into another whole bracket.
You might want to correct Mike Longorica spelling, also an asterik, as he got
paid with a pool table.
Also the total payoff should be $24,900 I think as there was supposedly 99 players for $9900 in tourny fees.
I don't think Tony gives out free spots like the great thing you do with that option from local tournys.
Great job.\
Dick

I placed 25-32 and should have got $150 - Mike Prebeg I was not paid.
Jamie Bruce placed 9 - 12. He was supposed to get $550 and was not paid.
I asked Tony why Jeff Heath got paid right after the tourney. He explained that this was a personal loan as Jeff helped set up the tables.

I updated your list for you. Mike Langerica did not get paid. He negotiated a partial trade for work to be done on his own home table, which has not been done yet.

I just added Gilbert Arellano's name to the list; 27 names left to go to complete the list!

Such a shame

It is such a shame that a big blowhard like Rip-Off-Agoni doesn't even have the ballz to really explain why he is not paying anyone or when he will do so.

I think he could care less about his reputation. I guess he had a reputation as being some kind of road player but that doesn't mean much unless your name is Chris Bartrum and the reputation is in a positive light!

The USPPA was a great thing for room owners and players. I hope someone picks up on the concept and starts another organization that would fulfill what the USPPA was intended to be.

Any insiders know what he really used the money that he collected for?
Bad debts, gambling gone bad, pool hall loosing money, dwindling pencil collection, etc. It would be interesting to know.

Those are such negative possibilities. Best case scenario he sent the money to fund a relief in Haiti. Other positive scenarios are he used the money to free his girlfriend from a slave-brothel on the border, possibly he needed the money to smuggle his family and children across the border, the money was used to vaccinate a small village in Africa, or the money was used for the black market to obtain a rare organ for a helpless family with a sick child. Election season is coming campaign contributions would improve his image about luring Olympic officials into using the USPPA as sport regulator, money for photos with politicians go a long way in the fundraising business.

I have a couple more NV player updates. Billy Silvera and Robert Egan fall under the $150 bracket. I don't believe they were paid. Poncho (don't know last name) received his $100.
