Adam, mine must not have been prepared properly either.i had two shafts on a Dayton.both of them wobbled pretty bad.i had been under the impression that stability and straightness was one of the benefits of the wood.

the shaft wood still has to be prepared the same way as any other good shaft would be with many cuts and stabilizing stretched over a long period of time. the result when done in this manner can yield a more consistent and better feeling shaft than standard high quality hard rock maple imo......but then again same as other shafts, that doesn't rule out an occasional dud from time i'm sure....

i just ordered some boards of the salvage wood for my own stash.i bought 3 30"x1"x4" boards, they are coming in next week.i am going to take my time cuttin them down and turning them into shafts.the guy says they range from 30-60rpi and have excellent tone

Just wanted to add another BEM cue pic to the thread.:)

Then I never had one that was "prepared" properly:)

Adam======>bought into the hype (twice) and was disappointed

I had 2 from Diveney that were perfect, straight, and played very well.

Kevin,

I gotta say I have a TON more respect for you after seeing a good bit of your work. I think your cues with the curly maple in them look very nice.

My next cue is going to be a plain curly probably with some ebony involved, I'm a BIG fan of curly maple.

Wow

I have to agree with all the positive things said on this post! Your work is second to none Kevin! I look forward to ordering my j/b!

Actually, I think it's "HORSESHIT". AK's are so ghetto, my 12 year old has a flatter trajectory throwing a rock.
Tell you what Varney, whatever group you think you can hold at 100 yds with that rifle (was that an extra in a rap video?) I will shoot a group half the size of it at 100 yds, then do it again at 250 yds and then do it again at 500yds with my AR. :)
