I just read the main article and to be honest I'm very happy he did find himself playing the way we know him.
IMO Earl is one of the greatest tenants of all times and a pure character of-course.

Break some leg Earl!

I agree,its an uphill battle but Earl can do it,he has won this event 3 times i believe.:)

He's got 6 world 9 ball championships. 3 under this Matchroom Sports event and 3 before this tournament's inception.

Can he get one more? I hope so.

Earl is awsome, when he comes to play.. I believe he lost the desire to win for some time..

As long as he keeps his mental side together I wish him the best... when he starts berating the crowd and his opponent and action like an ass I hope he gets taken down.

He has to much talent to act like that. It's really a shame. Hopefully he can keep his act together.
 
If I was reading it right; he has made the final field of 32!!

Way to go!! Just don't let the HUMIDITY get to you.
 
What is most suprising is that the things he said about the break and Jump cues are a complete condradiction to which he uses to his advantage. If Earl can keep up with how the young bloods are accustomed to do and if his attitude is in complete check (like ICON of SIN mentioned), then I believe that he can become one of those fan favs. I wish Earl the best as well in this tournament!
 
He also said the soft break was a joke but then utilized it to his advantage. Oh well...cant beat them join them. He is a lot of fun to watch though.
 
Ya have to love the style, and the power. When he plays like he can, he's so much fun to watch. The shots he plays fearlessly that others would have so much anxiety over. A very entertaining player.
 
I have said it once i have said it a thousands times...

When he is focused and on...there isnt a person on the planet that can beat Earl the Pearl..

I said it loud and proud in front of a bunch of pros during this years open.
And i will tell you Shane Van Boeing is the real deal..he is american hope for american pool players..he is an inspiration to me..since i two have a disability and continue to want to play pool well..but make no mistake if the Legendary Earl shows up to play him...He will find Earl to be his greatest challenge ever. To me this has the potential to be better than the us open..if Earl of old shows up.
