Video of Mosconi shooting some Straight Pool in 1980

I love the fact that he just quit at the end of the run hehe. Wonder what the high run would be if he did not.

I honestly don't know buddy, it's been working ok for me :)

It might be worth trying a different browser like google Chrome or something to see if it'll work for you

Willie's high run, and the even higher runs of a couple other old timers, have been discussed on this forum a number of times. You might enjoy what you could find by searching for such posts.

As to the ending of Willie's 526, he apparently missed rather than just quit. On page 167 of his autobiography, "Willie's Game," Willie (with co-author Stanley Cohen) writes: "I finally missed a difficult cut shot, but by that time I was weary; it was almost a relief to have it come to an end."

One well known pool expert reportedly witnessed an even longer run by Willie in practice, and Willie did just quit to end that one. Perhaps on the 1980 video Willie just confused the two runs.

It is certainly a good possibility considering Willie's age at the time of the video clip :)

If anyone knows what video this is actually from, it'd be interesting to try and get a copy of it.

Also Willie briefly mentions his 526 run at the end :)

Enjoy :)

I have this video on VHS., it is an episode of WW of Sports. Bill Flemming is the host and interviews Willie. This is the end where Willie runs 28 without the slightest problem. The label says, "Willie Mosconi's World of Pocket Billiards.

I find your Leftist photo by your name very distasteful and I am offended by it.
Let me tell you that the guy in the middle is far from a Superman.
This is not a political web site. This is for billiard players. There is no way that I can get you to remove trash like that. You will have to do it on your own and I know that there is a reason why the Left show that kind of Dirt.

I hope you're kidding because this thread is definitely not the place for this kind of thing.

With all due respect to you buddy, but I did not post this thread for any political soap boxing or any kind of political debates, etc.

I would like you to please edit your post and have some courtesy to respect another person's choices for what they are, but most of all to keep politics, etc, to the "Non-Pool" section of the forum so that we can all peacefully and respectfully enjoy discussing our favourite cuesport :)

Politics has got no place in sport, it never has and never should :)

Thank you and please keep all political malarky out of this thread and out of this section of the forum :)

Hey DJ, thank you very much for the info buddy, I really appreciate it :)

I understand that it is a big ask, but I was wondering if it is possible that you could find some way to upload the entire video footage online, like in the Videos section of the Forum? :)

I imagine that quite alot of straight pool players and pool fans would enjoy the interview and gettomg some insight from Willie's views and experience over the years :)

Here are a few more links for you good people to enjoy, although these are short trick shot reels, but they give some insight into Willie's overall shotmaking ability :)

I know there is much more footage available for the 2nd clip as I have seen other trick shots from the same reel using the 2 tables, but I'll have to order a couple of DVD's to get it, which I'm planning to do anyways :)

In the meantime, I hope you guys enjoy the clips :)

It's my guess that the post was poking fun at a recent post in another forum where the OP was asked to remove an avatar that was less than pro-obama.

When I watch that video I think to myself he's just lucky that he never gets stuck. :D

I noticed in both racks he didn't deal with the problem ball at the head rail until close to the end of each rack. The conventional wisdom is to handle the problem balls early but he seemed in no hurry to deal with them. He wasn't explaining everything in detail but I just get the sense that he sees the pattern pretty early on. Not that he didn't make any adjustments along the way, but his plan seems to allow for this.

I also noticed that when he moved balls it seemed clear he knew exactly where they were going.
