Viffer the Stiffer

What does alleged miscreant behavior in someone's personel life have to do with this thread and the bet(s)?

i agree...with that type of posting on here shows the character your dealing with...totally not right man...if paid or not

Gambling can be a dirty business. The higher you bet, the dirtier it gets. We've seen proof of that the last few weeks. Lots of it! That's why I prefer to keep my bets "sociable". I'm as careful as they come and I've had some serious problems when there was big money involved. These include very large pay offs from tournaments where I've staked players. I'm talking about fifteen to twenty five thousand dollars! I got the money, but it took a lot of tact and the hint of trouble. I will only tell these stories in private. They do not belong on a public forum or in a book.

P.S. I've seen 20K stolen off a light (at gunpoint) during a money match with maybe forty people watching. No one budged from their seat and neither player did anything to stop the guy.

Okay I will. Just answer this question.

Dippy - have you and me ever made a bet?

Lenny - No.

Dippy - before you posted this thread did you in any way try and contact me?

Lenny - No.

End of Story

Bartram - I lost to you when I bet that you would go two and out in Vegas. You beat the spread.

Now I have a question for you - How come you have posted in this thread but not clarified on the real situation at hand? Surely you know the answer.

3 rules of pool

1. Get the nuts
2. Make them post.
3. The sucker is always right.

#2 and #3 seem to have been forgotten when dealing with Dippy.

Dippy is throwing around a lot of comments about people - wonder when someone will throw back. Besides the 3 rules of pool, I have also learned to keep my mouth shut about people. I mother f'd the most wanted man in Missouri one night in a pool room not having any idea. I apologized the next day.

lenny is claiming to be a sain when i know he side bet with a guy and after loosing couldnt pay and said he would pay the guy 100$ a month, i just wanted to remind him that hes a liar too.

You must have the wrong Lenny, lmao, $400 and I could not pay, who was this guy I bet with? I bet on Earl vs Shane one time, lost and paid up, learned not to bet against Shane. The only time I ever have been slow paying someone was when I did not have Paypal and had to send a money order which was returned to me and then I had to resend it to the correct address. So I am a liar too just like you? I know there is not one person on here who can say I made payments for a gambling debt or stiffed them, if there is please tell me who you are so I remember it, just post about it here please.

You can say what you want Dippy but you know what you did. As for everyone being curious, my money was in with the 50k bet which was not paid to Scott. Those who were involved all know it has not been paid, you guys know what your reading here but not every little thing. Everyone has been waiting for Dippy to pay up.

So Dippy, I answered your questions now answer mine. Who was with you and who was with him, where and when did you pay Scott? If Scott was going to stiff us he would have stiffed us for all 3 sets and not just one set. Dave, the players will play you so you do not need to defend yourself for your classless actions. They see a mark, the money, and will take it down regardless of what you did with us. He who has the gold makes the rules, tell the players that the next time you say bad hit when you were not even watching the hit as you said and then tell them your not going to pay.

You can try to sidetrack and claim I am bad action.... yes I am bad action, barely book a loser, do not say a word when playing or have any antics, pay when I lose....but if you mess with me I will not let it slide, I will let people know what you did. I have no problem with 2 gentleman gambling, the problem with pool is all the BS like this. There will be no apology to Dippy the Dbag, he is dead wrong.

As for Scott and things he has done, that has no bearing on what your doing. Are you doing Gods work or something and paying us all back for our gambling sins or something? If Scott was paid then the rest of us would be paid. I am not posting on here to have a good time even though its been real....entertaining.

Not too many people want to speak out against Dippy for a variety of reasons, some of which are obvious. Who wants to kill the golden goose? :grin-square:

Scott Frost does not deserve the negativity written about him on this thread, just like Dippy Dave wouldn't want anything negative written about him. ;)

When you have this kind of action, with backer committees and side bets on the rail, pool people get real funny when it comes to that big money. I can assure you that if Scott lost and needed Fast Lenny's 4 dimes to pay off, Fast Lenny would not have hesitated and forked it up. It's a shame that the door doesn't swing both ways. :(

This reminds me of a poker game at my house, many years ago when I was a little green about poker. We were all friends from the pool room. The game lasted until sunrise and then began to dwindle. Some players went home busted, but I ended up winner that night. Ka-ching!

Fat Tony -- [not his real name] -- asked me if I wanted to engage in a little friendly 5-and-10 tonk game. My tonk skills were tweaked, and I figured I could take him, so we began to play.

Time flew by, as it always does in poker games, and before I knew it, it afternoon already. Fat Tony had me stuck close to $1,500. He hinted he wanted go home. We both had been up all night playing cards. But I begged him to stay and allow me to try to get some of my money back. I was sweating it. I just could not win a damn hand. My luck ran out. :help:

Well, Fat Tony finally gave me an unexpected request, "How much can I settle for, so that I can leave?" I didn't know how to answer. Then he said, "How about 500 bucks and we call it a night?" I couldn't give him that nickel fast enough. Whew! What a relief that he let me off. :o

As an aside and nothing to do with this thread, a year or two later I found out that Fat Tony was a card mechanic.

Fast Lenny, I hope you get paid. :)

lenny you ever bet3 or 400$ and ask to pay 100$ a month after you lost? does that count as not paying right after match? i think shane was playing and you were betting on side.

I never bet with you when you played Shane if that is what your referring to, I was not in Vegas for that nor bet on it. As I said I bet on Earl one time vs Shane and I believe it was with Disco, at the time I had no Paypal but he received a money order which I told him in advance I would be doing for a couple hundred. This is the only thing possible I could think about it which you might be talking about and I apologized to Derek for the delay and he was paid in full, no payments. I let people know before we play or side bet if I do not have it on me or do not have the funds in Paypal and have to ship a money order or whatever.

I luckily have never had the sick look I have seen on guys faces when they say they do not have the money and are busted, I quit when my pockets are empty and if I want to play then I let it be known before we start. This is the only thing I can think of where it got sent back to me because the address was incorrect, if he got payed slow it was not meant on purpose and at least he was payed and not stiffed. I am sure he was not bothered much by this since he still ask me to gamble to this day on matches but he is my dark cloud and I avoid him, I lose every time with the guy, haha. I have bet thousands with people on here with no problems.

I heard this exact same thing from another party who was there on site.

I am not saying who is right and who is wrong, but this is not the first time I heard this.

There's allegiances here in play, and people are afraid to speak up.

Thanks JAM for this GEM! I always like your stories, never let certain people touch the cards. Your right about the guy who has the gold, to be honest at first I liked Dippy, I said this boy is a character, he is here pumping up the players, hope he does it every year but.... :)

You're a disgrace to Gingerbread Men everywhere. Turn in your white chocolate buttons! I saw Scott a few times after he made his first big score off Viffer and we talked briefly twice. He told me he bought a new (newer) car, went shopping for clothes, and was holding onto the rest of his dough. He was with his girlfriend at all times too! You owe her an apology.

Shame on him...he owes her an apology...not me.

I do not blame them and I am not mad at them either, I know they want to make a little score so lets see how it goes. I figured Dave was just making Scott sweat it out to give him some crap for all the BS and antics that happened when they played but its been a little too long.

Fast Lenny, I know you're telling the truth about being owed. That is what's so sad here. :(

In fact, there might be another happening for lack of a better word, that may come to the fore. I'll just leave it at that and say don't accept any wooden nickels. :grin-square:

That wasn't very nice at all.

I know both Scott and Lenny. Scott and Lenny are pretty close friends (to each other). I seriously doubt that Scott would stiff Lenny. If Lenny didn't get paid, then Scott didn't get paid. And I know Lenny well enough to know that he wouldn't come on here and say something that he didn't believe to be absolutely true.

I don't mind people expressing their opinions, but when it comes to bashing someone else, I just wish they'd have enough guts to use their real names.

Roger Long

Not trying to bash anybody, but Scott would stiff his grandmother. I would hate to be the best 1 hole player with his rep.

My room mate said Scott's so tight that he squeaks, but that doesn't make him a bad guy, Gingerbread Man. There's a lot of squeaky players in pool when it comes to money.

I like your avatar, BTW! :)
