Vimeo Question

Do you guys/gals and mostly use the basic vimos or do you buy the upgrade? I have some vids that are over an hour long I need to put up and not sure which vimos package I should get.

Any suggestions or preferences from you all?

Try veoh.com....I've put some huge files on there and haven't paid a dime for any of it. I'm not sure what you get with vimeo, but veoh has worked well for me.

If the files are really large, there is a secondary program they use to help out.

Most of us use the basic package. You can download 500 mb per week.

I just uploaded a two hour match and it was about 500 mb.

I used veoh before, but it started acting goofy on me. Same for azbtv.

Likewise with Veoh. I am in the process of taking all of my videos off of Veoh and closing my account. They started showing only the first 5 minutes of every video, and then requiring people to join the site to watch the rest. After a while, it became a hassle for many of us, and I have abandoned that site.

BTW and OT... if anyone has a way to contact Niels Feijen - let him know that his videos will be removed from VEOH. I've sent him 2 e-mails and received no reply - he has them linked to his website and I wanted to give him fair warning before I closed my account. Thanks in advance.

I myself use the basic package too, but i hear that someone was able to upload a Gig on there site ......LOL

i much prefer Vimeo, although the videos wont play on iPhone because the site converts them to Flash for online usage.

so akatrigger knows about this already but for the rest of you out there, i have started a site like youtube and vimeo and all the rest. Mainly because of those reasons you talked about. feel free to post as many as you'd like. if you need to upload many videos at a time, message me and I'll give you ftp access so you can put them up that way and i'll start the conversion manually

I pay the $60 a year for Vimeo's upgrade. Well worth it for me. Not a lot of money and you can upload true 720p HD videos which I have started taking advantage of. Plus your vids convert without a wait.

Veoh is cool but you have to install a player and most people hate that. I used to use Stage 6 and Divx a lot but that went in the toilet. I really like Vimeo. I figure if you use the service a lot and its worth it to you $60 isn't much to support it.

Yes, I directed to his website right after I started this thread. I was already able to upload almost 3 1/2 hours of video (4 videos total) to his website easily yesterday afternoon and each were over 500MB. No restrictions, no cost.

Thank you, Abe!
