Waiting on you at home Fatboy!

Ok I have found several diamond tables in the price range of 2,500 plus delivery and setup was around 3500-4000 in all. I play on a gold crown now and yes I pefer them for banking but I want to be able to play on the equipment that most of the big pool halls are going to....Of course if i find a nice gold crown for cheap then I might look at that...How much are the used pro ams

You like the pro am over the pro???!!!! And I live in tennsesse right on the border near fulton....a town called martin. Any way I was thinking a 9 foot pro cause I can get those much cheaper than a gold crown or pro am....I think. i play alot of bank and nine ball. I like to play one pocket but not many players around here do. I want a pretty fast table but not unresonably fast. And I heard the one piece slat plays better is that true?
As far as a one piece slate playing better than a three piece slate, that all depends on who sets up the table, and the frame design of the table it's being set up on, meaning what kind of table it is, and how much work the mechanic is willing to put into leveling the three piece slate to make it perfect.

The one big difference between a one piece slate vs three piece, is that a one piece slate is tied together with the frame/slate/rails, whereas a three piece slate is held to the frame of the slate base with 12 wood screws, then the rails are bolted to the slate, independent of the frame.

I don't really care much for Diamond tables for the long haul unless they have the Dymondwood finished rails, because they'll never have to be refinished. Used ProAms from Diamond are between $4,000-$4,400 plus delivery and setup, but will retain their resale value way beyond that of a Brunswick or Diamond Professional...even with the Dymondwood rails;) because the ProAm IS the tournament tables of today...and the future;) Havent' you noticed...Diamond don't use the Professionals anymore in tournaments:cool:

Ya, when I played Max, he preferred to rack his own also Glen!!!!! :D

What a great looking table, and perfect install(from what I can tell, but Im no expert). Im looking for a house now with space for a nice GC 9'. Its pretty hard.

Eric, check with Hollywood Jim, he's the one that has the 9' box on the way (with gully). I had him and Poolhustler in my office today. Too bad you missed the party :D

looks like they changed it and added it to the 9' box, I'm 100% positive it wasnt avaliable on the 9' box last i checked 6 months ago. Which I remember b/c I thought it was dumb.

I think drop pockets will be cool for a change, man my carpet looks beat to hell, that room gets alot of use-like a pool room, not a home room-I like that.

No...we took turns, when I won he racked, which was kind of more often than Max thought it should have been:D It's been a long time since I've played, but the more we played 8 ball...the more I got into it, the more Max racked....but he IS a hell of a player...LMAO!

beautiful work Glen, do you like the 5's better than the 4's?
They both share the same base pedestals. The 5 has a better designed slate frame base than the 4, but that don't really make it a better table, as both frames use the same leveling system. The rails are exactly the same, only difference is the pocket castings, but they both mount the same way. But, the pocket castings on the 5 are more of a pain in the ass because they have to be shimmed to fit, and if that still don't work, you then have to remove some of the surface wood on the ends of the rails in order to set the castings down flat to the surface, if you don't do this modification to the corner pocket castings, you'll end up with the sharp corners of the castings sticking up above the surface of the laminate which WILL cause injury to one's hands if one is NOT careful sliding your hands across the corner pockets!!!!!

I was referring to the GC in the pics. I played on the Diamond as well, but I prefer GC's.

Did I hear correctly that you are going to visit JimS soon? I would love to meet you while you are in the area. Maybe we could arrange a game or two?

I love this game....I think it's the only game where you can use nicknames like Fatboy and not take a shot to the chin....

Fatboy, the table looks great, congrats sir.....Glen, good post, nice work sir....

The GC in the pics is the GC5 I just set up at Fatboy's this last weekend, the GC4 was taken out, it's going to Colorado this week into another home. Yes, it's in my plans to stop by JimS on my way from the Diamond factory to Rapid City, SD. Once I get done with this next Diamond delivery, I plan on spending the rest of this year on the east coast, as there's a lot of tables back there, as well as mechanic's I'd like to spend some time working on...and working with.

This must be the table you're talking about having played on at Fatboy's. This is the one I took down that is on it's way to Colorado:D

I recovered the Diamond ProAm while I was at Fatboy's house as well, so it don't even play close to the way it played before as it now has the Simonis 860HR on it, and it's on tight!;)
