Sorry for hijacking your thread but may I ask what camera / settings did you use for this shot? I really like it, this turned out very nice.
Overall it's a super nice cue and good luck for trading for a PFD!
Probably macro mode, which is for close-ups. Some cameras use a magnifying glass or a flower as an icon for this mode if it has one. Put the camera 4"-6" from the subject when using.

Thank you and no worries on the thread jack. It keeps it at the top right!
The shot was taken with my Nikon D80 with a Nikkor AF-S 18-135mm lens. ISO set at 1000 @ F5
I hope that helps. I do a lot of this kind of work but usually it's not on cues.
Well, apparently I could catch the smell of this kind of equipment - that shot really is beautiful. It is easy to see the expertise.
Thanks for the answer and the detailed setup.

I hear what your saying about some other cue makers and how you prefer to carry Pauls' work in your bag. I'm currently having a cue made for me by Paul and he has been a true professional to deal with in every sense of the word! Now if we can just get someone on this thread that has a PFD for trade....Bump for a guy in need
