I'm Looking For A Favor......

My Wife Will Be 8 1/2 Months Pregnant At The Expo, And I'm Looking For A Trade Of Rooms.

I Have A Room At The Radisson, And I'd Like To Trade For A Room At The Scanticon So She Doesn't Have To Make The Journey Down The Long Hallway. Anybody Want To Hook A Brother Up?

I'm There From Weds Night On.

Seriously guys, someone has to have a heart here. Marcus is a great guy and one of the few solid,m upstanding individuals left on this site.

Marcus, I'd have given you my room if I knew but I gave mine away a while back because i'm not even sure I'm gonna make it down this year! And it wasn't in the Scanticon so it wouldn't have mattered! :-(

I have tried to book a room at the Scanticon for the past several years with no luck. They were blocked out for the vendors so they could move their cues, etc to and from the exhibit areas. It is my understanding that they are booked years in advance.

joe you are correct.. you have to be on Allan Hopkins list to get a room in the scanticon...

i know people in the past that got rooms there.. dont know how they got them.. but its near impossible to get one if you dont have a booth..

I Had Even Tried Calling Allen Directly But It's Full.

I Just Can't Beleive That A Vendor Or Anyone Who Has A Room There Can't Help Me Out.

I've Been Attending The Expo For 10 Or So Years, And Get A Block Of 10 Rooms Every Year. That Still Wasn't Enough To Get The Swap Done By The Hotel.

By the way my 27th wedding anniversery is of all days at the end of next week!
So plan on your baby being born probably on my wedding anniversery and then plan on being home for his birthdays too! The pool Gods can be cruel!

We've stayed at the Scanticon the last two years, but when we tried to reserve rooms for this year, we were informed of the "list".

Staying at the Scanticon was a sweet deal, but it looks like we're stuck at the Radisson for any future events.


Btw, anyone know how to get to the interconnecting hallway from the scanticon side? Is it near the Scanticon front entrance/elevators?

YES IT IS. THE BAR IS TO THE RIGHT OF THE ELEVATORS, THE HALLWAY IS TO THE LEFT.

Shooting form the hip here, but can you secure a 'handicap/disabled' room at said hotel? If need be, I'd bet her Doc/Gyno would issue her a temp disabled status card or something like that. I don't know, just the scammer in me would try that angle. Good luck.

After reading this thread, that was the first thought that came to mind.

If that doesn't work, then a wheel chair for sure.

Then staying home!

As for me, I plan on making the 5 hour drive there, staying for a few, then the 5 hour drive back! Damn college sapping away all my funds!

nope.. they wont accomidate any dissability in the scanticon unless your on "The List". i tried that route one year after a motorcycle accident.. its almost like the scanticon people dont care.. although, i am sure they would care if they got a lawsuite.. but even if you mention that they still brush you off.. walking that 5 mile hallway is murder on somebody that has a leg injury..
