:eek: I sell a few items on olx.com...it's like Ebay. Someone calling herself Mellisa Duckett wanted to purchase a FingerSlide UnGlove from me. Wanted me to ship to Nigeria to her cousin. Said to ship "Royal 1st class express mail, It's his birthday so you have to put it right into the mail quick!" She says she'll send you a check for triple the amount and offers to give you an extra $100 for your trouble. Makes excuses about the check being a gift and requests the difference back. I spotted this one and reported it to her email server, Yahoo.com! This group also sends FAKE PayPal emails...isn't that great. Just wanted to warn everyone!! If I get the check it's being forwarded to the FBI ASAP!!

ahha the classic overseas scam lol. buy an item ,send alot more then item you sold item for , then you you wait for the usual money order that looks real , then you deposit in bank and send back if you are honest the rest of cash and item ,only to find out ...


da boom !!! the money order is a fake , you are responsible for paying bank back the money and you lost the item also . yep the classic scam

Just did a deal with a buyer from Indonesia. I requested that he pay via Western Union... He did... I went to the Western Union location nearest me
( in a Kroger store) picked up my cash and then shipped the item. It's the only way to go to be certain you are not getting ripped off.

Thanks to the AZ's and this forum a lot of these scams are being exposed.

I also get a rise out of people advertising that they want something for their son, daughter, wife and etc as if we are supposed take a loss and give them a special deal.

I would hate for any of the GREAT people on AZ to be taken. I just love this site...I think it's the best because of it's members!!

Funny how that works.

Did you know that 10 zip codes in the US account for 90+% of all credit card fraud? (If I remember right. A CC processor anti-fraud guy told me that once)

If you live in one of those, you'll find it difficult to do business online with some companies because they automatically filter them out.

With all that's going on in the world today, how long do you think it would take for the FBI to react to your sending them a fake check? Fake check from Nigeria. Hmmmmmm, let me see. I think I'll put three agents on this right away. Yeah yeah that's the plan.
