We want to sponsor more tournaments...

But Who's? Where? When? How? Sure could use a little guidance.

I've been posting on here for a little while now, promoting our products and things are going pretty well...Thank you EVERYONE>>>

My goal is for EuroChalker to be a 'household/Poolhall' name such as Masters chalk. I have been searching out different events and organizations and have sponsored a couple with free product yet most of them want cash, of course. Of the 2 I sponsored, 1 turned out great with us landing a big spot in Auroa Road Billiards catalog, one of our products will be in Muellers catalog and it looks like CueStix International is going to be picking up our products because some of their customers have asked for them. The other event I sponsored, I found out later, the product($1299 worth) was pushed under a table and never saw the light of day. Expensive lesson.

We've got 1500+ on order for August so far and that is just more than I ever expected, it's really going well for only our first 9months in business and starting with $50, yet we want more. (Damn capitalists:D )

Anyways, with the season really taking off in the late summer and fall I'd like to find some 'worthwhile' tournaments to sponsor in September and October before the Christmas season. We're not a cash strong business yet, although when we are, we'll definitely be joining the different big name event organizers. Does anyone know or run any tournaments that I can sponsor with product at that time? Freebies for entrants or freebies they can sell and pass out promotional literature? I'll provide the handouts and product, I just need to know who I can trust and were it will be the most beneficial.

One of you pros out here, your advice sure would be appreciated....

....and rewarded :)

Thanks in advance

Doug

How about putting a country's flag (in real colors) on one side or two sides of the chalker. I'm certain it would create some interest.

There are several good tours that are always looking for sponsors. The Viking tour (Mike Janis is the tour director and posts here frequently) is probably the largest tour, but the Joss tour, Hunter tour, Spirit tour, and Blaze tours are all established tours. Any of them would do a good job promoting your product.

Come on Doug. Out with it. Which tournament or tour just put the product under a table??

LOL...It wasn't stateside... A UK tour... I got the word from a realiable journalist friend of mine who actually saw it. He was totally shocked because we had talked about promoting some things together and he was a little miffed that I had went with this tournament before we had hooked up. We worked it out and we're going to start some things together over here on this side of the pond.

That said, if anyone decides they want to bash more tournaments, let's keep the bashing over on the IPT tour thread.

Peace

Thanks Steve,

I've spoken with Mike, pretty nice guy and I'll definitely be trying to hook up with him in the future. Unfortunately he's just a little out of my reach with his requirements. (But not for long :) )

I am a cue repair man and I set up at 11 larger midwest tourneys. PM me pricing and what your expectations are. I also have a fellow repair man that does 45-50 touneys a year including all the biggies in Vegas.

i have one of these pocket chalkers and i really love it. the best feature is the snap on cover, i don't know why no one thought of this before. keeps you from getting chalk all over the inside of your case when storing it!

I always wanted to say..."Wish Idda thought a that"... Cant say it about the pocket chalker but...The strap cover's mine all mine... :)

Tours

I would sure recommend the Midwest 9 ball tour, with Evelyn and Danny Dysert as Tournament Directors. They cover pretty much all of the Midwest of the USA, and it is a real good tour.

Their website is http://www.9balltour.com

Evelyn's phone number is 316-371-5805.

Is the tour business who will be really buying your product? I would think you would be better off at a grassroots level concentrating on APA, BCA, etc league players....that will be your biggest market.......banners for pool halls to advertise your product....I own 2 places and I am always looking for stuff to cover the walls....less expensive than doing tourneys and you reach more people......my 2 cents...or 2schillings......

How about sponsoring a player like Sarah Rousey. I met her last year at the BCA show and she was great. Good personality, pretty and smart. I would buy your chalker if she was endorsing it.

Workin on the pretty Polish girls...

Definitely understand what your talking about, the grass roots level... Not sure exactly or what to concentrate on at the moment...just trying to get some name recognition. As for things to cover your walls, I'm working on a nice poster or calendars with Pretty Polish Lasses...With taste...It might take some time to put the calendar together but maybe a poster of something first off...not sure...

Thanks for the schillings...I believe they're up on the dollar at the moment... :)

Thanks for the tip....

Also try the guys at theactionreport.com as they will be at alot of tourneys.

Thanks Bob, I spent about an hour on the phone with Chad over there. These guys are doing some great things for the world of cue sports. We've all heard and talked about ESPN and T.V. not picking up the game.... Chad quoted another gentleman, can't remember who but he said....who needs ESPN when you've got the internet(And TheActionReport.com).

When you're online for 7weeks and, on your 'first' live stream, you have over 3500+ people watching and then your phone starts ringing because the guys down at the pool hall can't find the match on there 'dish' or 'cable'...they start calling and asking how they can hook up their laptops so they can pipe your live streams of the matches onto their big screens, you know you're making some noise.

Watch what these guys are doing, "Support the Report" at TheActionReport.com -

And if you like to 'huff'....you aint seen 'huffin' till you've seen the huffin clip on their front page.

"......can you 'post' $50,000 on PayPal for a pool match?......."

Thanks Chad and all that you guys are doing.
