I believe forum rules require any cue over $3000 must have a better description and more specs than what we see here. ;-)

Nice pawnshop pickup

Any information other than length 57’

How about diameter of 2 shafts?
Weight of cue n shafts?
Type of woods?

I mean no offense but you’re asking for 3200$ but your pictures looks like screenshot or cut n paste from eBay. No information n such. Kinda tough to make offer or want to buy.

Seriously ? I took detail pictures so anyone can judge the condition for themselves. Just took these. I'll have to get measurements. I'll update tomorrow

I don't mean any offense either. Many people know that Tascarella cues are top cues on the market. I'm not too proud or uppedity to ask certain questions regarding a potential purchase no matter what my budget is. I don't think it's out of line to ask for weights of butts and shafts as well as diameters, etc. By including those up front, it helps potential buyers. I know for a fact that the last person that gave feedback is definitely looking for Tascarellas and he has mentioned that on numerous occasions. It's just from your response that you seem put off by the request. Lots of people like to know the weight of each shaft. Some people even get funny about shafts that weigh less than 4 ounces. I'm having trouble figuring out the Joint style because the joint protectors remain on. I'm assuming 3/8-10 but I'm not sure. I know that detail is very important to me as I don't prefer 3/8-10 Pin cues. I think being open minded to these requests will help speed up a potential sale. Again, just feedback, no offense or rudeness intended.

EDIT: I just saw billiardscoll has alreadfy posted pretty much the same info.

Whenever selling a cue, a detailed description of its condition should accompany a good set of pictures. Yes, good pictures are very helpful but not all bumps, dings, scratches or other possible defects can be captured in them so why not clarify whether any of these exist? Also, pictures can not confirm straightness so commenting on that is very helpful, as well. And finally, posting specs is a must as this information is paramount to most potential buyers.

The bottom line is that sellers dramatically increase their chances for success when making things as easy as possible for their potential buyers

Please take my comments as they are intended which is my trying to be helpful.

best,
brian kc

I have a 57” tasc in my collection. I think a lot of his older cues may have been 57” as that was more of the standard. I’m not exactly sure when the transition to 58” becoming more popular happened but many of the cues I’ve collected that were built from the 1950’s to the 1970’s are 57”.

I've never seen a Tasc with two veneers.
As long as you stay within certain parameters, the Tascarella shop will make whatever you want if you got the cash. Like if you want a 3-hi 3-low wrapless style cue, Tasc is probably not your cuemaker and they'll tell you that. It's a good thing IMO. Tasc makes the best traditional style cue that you can actually order and receive IMO, they know it, and they stick to it.

But a very plain 4 point type cue like what's pictured? They'd make it.

The Gus Szamboti that is my player cue is 57", and as you suggest I think it was more common years ago.

57 inch cues were the norm with a lot of cues back in 50s 60s 70s. Guys were shorter back then too for the most part.

Ok. It said 57 on the pawn shop paperwork. I just took the cue to Pete's Billiards and asked them all the questions. Here's what I have. In their opinion, there are no major scratches or dings on the Butt or shafts that can be felt or seen blatantly. This cue has seen plenty of use and there are minor dings and scratches that are not plainly visible. It also appears that on one of the shafts the clear coat has worn off towards the shaft joint end. It is possible that is result of someone cleaning the shaft.
