Hi all! Just curious? Does anyone know what cues today's pro's and top players are shooting with?? I"m sure this question has surfaced before. But with so many cue makers out there. I'm curious to know.

Thanks! Jase

Whoever is willing to pay them $$ to shoot with their cue.

custom cues

Both previous responders were correct.

Sponsored pros may hold a cue that looks like the one you can buy, but it has been modified. This can be as easy as shaft turned down, different taper, smaller ferrule, different ferrule material, or as much as custom balancing weights added or weight removed to make the cue fit them. Often a sponsored pro has several (3-5) cues made that have exactly the same feel, just in case something happens to one of them, a perfect backup is moments away.

Thus, you are still left with the question of what cue is right for you. And no fewer steps are left on your journey.

All cues work-there is no ultimate cue

Best option start a cue collection. Use what you like . Mark

Oh, Ok, I see....

Mitch makes total sense though. Thanks!

You could look at some of Samm's old "What's in the Case" videos. Not sure how current some of them are though.

Usually, pros typically play with a 58" cue made out of wood that has a small piece of leather on the end of it. Any instrument that meets these requirements are about all they require to beat a mere mortal at any game played on felt.

Tim...Just FTR, almost NO pro players are actually paid $$$ to play with any certain cue. The 'payment' comes in the form of, "Here, play with this cue!" Rarely does money change hands, between cuemakers and pro players. The main reason?...the cuemakers have been ripped off way too many times (and that comes straight from the cuemakers). :D

Of course, Shane's and Allison's deal with Cuetec would be an exception right? :)

True, however I believe in some cases, in addition to the free cues, that some cuemakers pay the entry fees as well.
