What cues are the pros using these days?

I really like my Z2 but I'm kinda dissapointed I haven't heard any Pro that shoots with one. Of those that do shoot with a Predator currently or in the past, it has always been the 314-2 it seems.

Here in FInland we have World Beater guy who uses Z-shaft... He also made many century breaks at snooker with it.
I use normal Bear shaft at pool but i ordered Z2 to snooker purpose and made 2 century breaks in 2 weeks after i got it.. :)

Also i want to mention Earl was visiting here in Finland last summer and i asked which cue you play nowadays.

Hes answer : " It does not matter what cue i play. Only thing what matters is TIP. I play with Elkmaster and that is what matters. I don´t play with laminated tips because they deflects funny sometimes and you gonna think "you missed shot" even that miss was because tip deflection.."

I have found the Z series shaft is excellent for snooker.
...not so much for pool.

If it hasn't been said already, you might want to update a couple on there.

I am 95% sure that Alex P uses the Classic Pro (11.75 mm) shaft.

I am 100% certain that Mike Dechaine uses OB Sneaky for player with both a OB1 and OB1 Plus shaft, and the OB Break cue.

Thanks for making this thread. I think it's cool to know what the pros use, regardless if it is because they are sponsored by them or if it's because they like the cues.

This thread is nearly a year old. I'll update it if everyone contributes.

Yeah I'd like to see it updated as well..

Watching Turning Stone yesterday..
John Morra is using a Fury.

Darren Appleton and Karl Boyles are both using Predator Throne 3's...

This is exactly what I've done. I almost threw my z shaft in the Wood Stove but tried it for snooker, works great and glad I didn't set it on fire

Add an Elkmaster tip onto Earl's set-up. The more I hear of pros using an Elkmaster, the more excited I get about using one on my cue. I'd always thought they were the throw-away tips put on the house cues. My local house pro uses one, too. The local cue maker swears by them. Just ordered some compressed Elks to try. Any chance I get to use a $1 item that does as good or better job than the $30 item, sign me up.

Chua uses a Southwest cue, cocobolo forearm with 6 bird's-eye points.

The last time I asked Rodney Morris this question was a couple years back and he was playing with his Poison signature cue and here were his preferences:

19.8 oz
12.78 ferrule
Triangle tip
leather wrap

Nick van den Berg uses a Musashi cue, I think that's the only one I can add to the ones already mentioned.
