What do you do to feed your hobby?

I sell cell phones for Radioshack, you can make between 20-50 bucks per phone if you know what you're doing.

I also work freelance A/V production, good money, but I have a lot of training...

It really is ridiculous how easy it is to make money playing poker right now (and I don't even play online).
Yeah, cuz you get all those people who listen to your suggestion, and say well hell, if it's that good of an opportunity then let me try to go make some easy money at it...

The more people you can get to follow you, the easy money you'll have.

;)

I got lucky with a business 11 years ago so thank goodness $$$ isnt a concern for me anymore, I still work alot being a business owner the clock never stops but I make enough thats its worth it.

The above posts about sales are spot on, I wont go into details about my biz on the internet period(please dont ask me, thank you i like to be private), but what I did was sales and then opened my own gig and now I have alot of people selling for me and I get a piece of all the action, no it isnt a pyrmid scheme, its like the guy who owns a car lot and has 30 salesman, he has action on every deal. I started selling then opened a small office and expaneded it. it take along time.

Before my sales job, I played nickle and dime pool and made about $200-$300/week this was 20 years ago so it was ok $$$, I also had a good reputation for buying and selling cues and made about $1,000/month so all together I was making an average of $1,700-$2,200/month, i didnt have a job. also a few rail rail bird bets because I was at the pool room so much Ihad the line on alot of players, it wasnt much and I wasnt moving foward in life, the hours were long, got board with it and got a sales job in Vegas after doing that for a year.

If you can hustle pool your a salesman thay go hand in hand

LOL your a pimp ????? Ya it gets ya action and money and can be fun.

What do you do to make money? What is your job and what do you do to make extra cash?

I am currently unemployed, and live in Iowa and can't find anything for work that I am capable of doing....Im not a handy man, I grew up working with computers and went to college for them, but Iowa and pretty much the whole midwest is pretty far behind in the technology department...

anyways, enough about me, Im just curious because after seeing a lot of awesome and expensive equipment people have, and their pool rooms I am jealous lol, how do I get that? :)

I make porn movies and star in them. Ok Ok thats just my dream job. But I realy am going to do it one day.;) :D

Another one for sales. I used to be a chef then I jumped to the other side and now sell the food to chefs. Never thought I could be a saleman but now that I am I can't see myself doing anything else. Work at your own pace work from home on some days if needed and put in some hard work to give yourself a raise when needed.

Matt, so what youre trying to say is all those "movies" you watch sitting at your computer alone at night are really just for research purposes? So, when you finally some day get your big "pornstar break" you can have all the right moves?

Right now I'm on lettuce, but pretty soon I will be moving up to fries. That's when the big bucks will start rollin' in.

I would echo the advice to get into car sales. I got laid off back in December so I decided to head back into in sales. There are at least 4 or 5 guys every weekend that clear $2,000 or more. It's very easy to make $4,000 a month or more.

very good advice all, I may have to rep every post in this thread lol Thanks, sales sounds like a good idea, I think I have seen openings in car sales around here

I'm a full time student at Sacramento state univ (economics, 4th year) and full time estimator for a commercial painting company. So i have very little time to play pool :( well actually i play pool a lot, i have very little time for everything else (my girlfriend loves this part :)

We'll sorta, i'm not a racist, i hate racism in any form, but around 70% to 80% of my staff is black and from the hood from the janitors to the CEO(he is black), we pay them real good and try and get them on the right track, alot of times its worked. So from an outside perspective I might appear to be a pimp, but I'm not. Just the oppsite I'm a business man who came from the hood and my partner did as well, thats why we hire from the hood because there are alot of great people there who never get a fair chance-we give it to them. It dosent awalys work out but its better than hireing a college graduate with high expectations and a big ego, I like street smart people, I can relate to them.

I have a friend who is a pimp big for $$$ over night girls, not 1 hour girls. He keeps 1/3 of the $$$, kinda like Hiede Fliess did back in the day, he goes to expensive car events, golf courses etc to find clients and then recruits girls from the adult film business and makes appointments, he works constantly. He isnt a silly looking street pimp he looks, just the oppsite he dresses like a millionaire in golf cloths or driving cloths depending where he is looking for clients, the inventory side of the business(girls) is easy because they all talk to each other and come to him because they get 65% of the $$$. He AWALYS takes the customers word over the girls but I havent ever seen him have a problem, he buys his clients wifes gifts for thousands of dollars. He flys girls all over the world, he has big clients in the middle east. No drugs, if they show up to an appointment drunk they never work for him again-they know this and since they all talk to each other and one screws up the problem fixes itself. it automatically keeps them in line, his cheapest girl is $4,000 for an over night locally. Not in Vegas. He works at least 70 hours a week, maybe more its crazy how much work it is. The clients pre-pay him, most of it is referal business. He is an honerable guy. He has sent me a couple girls to test drive for free. not a bad deal. Like they say "Pimpin' aint easy" at any level.

You have to put in a lot of time doing sales and it can be very frustrating. You will get a lot of promises and a lot of second day regret cancellations and what we referred to as no shows. People that schedule a appointment and then aren't home. If you are "lucky" enough to be the top seller you will make a lot of money. There is always one in every company and that is the one that they always flaunt in front of you. I was working as a outside roofing salesman for Home Depot. The people working in Florida were getting wealthy after Wilma. Boston for some reason was a hot spot. Most of them were making at least $250,000. a year. Where I was at it was dead. Most of us were doing about $1,000 a month, not very good. The turnover was high. People were just price shopping to get a starting/bargaining point or a way to justify doing it themselves. I would have made more working for free as a greeter at Meijer for tips after I paid my expenses.

If you are thinking of sales do something that you believe in, enjoy and know about. Don't sell a product that you don't feel is the best.

You could become a dealer in a casino. I did that for a while. Average is about $35 to 40K. Free meals, 20 minute break after every hour, you on a break 2 out of the 8 hours. If you deal in Vegas it is a lot higher because it is all based on tips. You can work your way up to be a pit boss, they were making 60 to 80k.

Become a bartender. The problem is you will work most evenings. Tips are good if in a busy high end place.

Good luck.

Here it is!

Become a Basketball coach, Iowa is in dire need of good coaches right now....
