So a few days ago I was at a bar at 7 am to play pool. The place has the worst tables in town. Anywho I was there and going to play pool when the bartender came over and asking if she could get me anything I said no and she asked for my ID. I told her I do not have it and left. It was a waste of time. Like yes I know I was in the wrong but I was just playing pool not drinking. Don't you guys wish places did not do this? How do you handle this? I am assuming you guys will think I am crazy for not carrying my ID.
You get all bent out of shape for being asked to show id in a bar ? What yiu gonna do when you hit 67 like me and asked for id to buy a pack of cigs. ?

If I was buying something that needed ID I would do it. But pool does not need ID. Hence why I disagree with the law.

Woooooooooow, I hope this is a joke. Somehow I think it may not be. If not it’s just about the biggest cheapskate move in the history of billiards And I say that as someone who once saw some guys try to use a flashlight to beat an automated snooker table light on a timer.
He is joking. But I am curious why the 9 ball? Like are you saying I use 1 - 15 and the 9 is the one I like the most?

Sooner or later, the government is going to run out of all those single bar football helmets. Then what are you going to do?

That is an awesome idea wearing a football helmet when walking into a bar. I always forget to duck.

7AM?? Most bars that are open at that time are only frequented by alcoholics, not pool players. Most don't even have pool tables.

Are you sure you're on the right forum?

There are may reasons for you to carry ID at all times. As an example, if you go out alone and have a serious health incident (stroke, heart attack, seizure, etc.) and are rushed to a hospital, how will they identify you? If they can't identify you, how will they pull your medical records and history in tying to determine what course of treatment is safe? How will they notify your loved ones that you've been hospitalized? In that scenario, failing to carry ID could cost you your life.

As already noted in this thread, some places card you no matter what you look like. Several years back, I was asked for proof of age when I ordered a drink in the bar at the airport in Charlotte, NC. The thing is that I was 58!

When I was like 22 my friend and I went to a local bar to play and it was empty and the guy in charge asked for our IDs we showed them to him and he kicked us out for being too young....

I find the law side of this interesting. The differences in what countries require what, or states. In Canada Ontario the rule is anyone who looks under 25-30 the servers will card.

But the part that is different, we don't serve before 11am i believe. And underage is allowed in bars until 8 or 9 oclock. There is also the designation of restaurant which can seve alcohol but since there is food, it isnt a bar and underage can stay after that time.

While this topic is npr i do like learning a little about my souther neighbours rules. When i was in atlanta i was carded for a beer at lunch time. I believe thats the rule in atlanta but up here being in our 40s and carded is considered flattery.
