Rob had a few to many, way to many. A nice guy, but friends don't let friends drink and drive, someone should have looked out for him..,

Its not always easy to over look drunken behavior..,

You mean when u got something coming to ya? Not everybody looks the other way

very stand up player and a good sportsman. Very surprised to hear of him involved in an altercation. It is definitely, not characteristic of his prior pattern of behavior.

I hope he was not in the wrong and simply defending himself. When money is on the line and the rent is due, It will bring out the nasty things inside of desperate people.

Kd

Iv played him and seen him play many times he has his moments

Doctors bill and MRI are not cheap. Wait till someone gets the bill.

Talk about adding insult to injury!!!

Not being judgmental..,

I'm not sure who Robs friends are or if there was a friend with him, but everybody there knows him, seemed like a few of them were really cool with him before the drinking started, maybe not...,

He was to drunk to do anything other then go sleep it off

I've seen Robb a bunch in Birmingham; everyone gets along with him and he just seems so nice and laid back.

A if you speak with him wish him well from me..

I broke my orbital socket a few years back and thought I might have damaged the eye but it all worked out..

BTW-- how have you been? Playing much?

Hey Frank! Been good. Don't play as much as I use to. I'll tell Robb. These days it's through text or phone calls. He's been good other than this incident.

I have never liked pool rooms that serve alcohol -- for this very reason.

Unfortunately, here in the States, pool rooms that sell pool alone cannot make ends meet. Instead, they are bars, sports bars with loud music, and food.

Booze isn't the issue.

The problem is not with serving alcohol in the pool rooms.
The problem is with the owners/managers not throwing someone out who gets drunk on their ass and begins to look for trouble.
It takes guts. I watched Jimmy Mataya put on one of his drunken blowhard shows at a poolroom years ago...walking around, strutting about "the way we did it back in Detroit", etc..
Some men were betting on games and he was ridiculing them for not betting "enough"....whatever that means. They told him to shut up.
The owners walked over and told him to get his ass out or go to jail. He was stunned that someone would remove him, the "big shot",.....but out he went.
Then there is also the problem of grownups who can't hold their liquor and wind up acting like fools.
Just my opinion

The only room i know of anymore that doesnt serw is top hat.

Did champions in silver spring have beer? I think not. I know that westmont/ arlington didnt, but shirlington and all those thereafter did.

Drexeline outside of Philly doesn't serve alcohol.
Pool was their bread and butter till smoking laws took a chunk out of their business.
They changed it to BYOB several years ago though to compensate.
But none of the pool players are bringing booze and drinking. Only groups of friends at night and league people come in with beer.
As a matter of fact, BYOB aside, I don't think many of the Philly area pool halls actually SERVE alcohol.
None of them are bars if I am not mistaken.
Tacony used to, but they are closed now.

I could be wrong though.

From little bits of information I've gathered storybook is
