Actually we are discussing the pros and cons of a selling technique.
One of the pros is that you can inflate the price of a cue by 40% and hope no one knows how to multiply.
The cons is not everyone is an idiot and sometimes people do not adhere to the law on Monto and only post where he tells them. Good luck on your heist....I mean raffle.

I have never posted anything negative in a for sale thread before. I have jumped in people's a$$ for doing it. These raffles are getting stupid. They are going drive an already fvcked up market lower by putting more underpriced cues into the market and hosing everyone. The only ones who benefit will be the dudes who originally raffled and the winners who blow out the cues. Everyone else loses in the long run. Dealers, collectors, flippers everybody.
Just to show that I put my money where my mouth is I could of raffled the Sugartree that Eric donated and probably gotten more money but didn't because I don't agree with it. Watchez was even kind enough to offer to run it but the fact remains I think they are bad overall for the game. In moderation , no big deal. But it has gotten out of hand. I may be right or wrong but my opinion is as valid as anyone else's and I will state it.
I used to play the cue game a lot and have a solid reputation on here. I know and have done business with most of the major players in the game. I know all about etiquette but I also know you get the community you deserve. Your opinion is to let people do what ever they want. My opinion is if you see something that you feel is going to fvck up something you care about you speak up.
The other thing Josh, is that the driving force behind this place is not the guys like you and me who are here all the time and know what is going on, it is the people who may or may not know what a certain cue is actually worth in the real world but they want one. I look on these raffle lists and see a whole lot of unfamiliar names. When somebody inflates the price 68% over normal real world prices that is just too much to let slide. Call me a nit or whatever other cute little term you can come up with I don't give a sh!t. It is wrong and I am going to say something.
Personally I think all the raffles are going end up causing a bunch of trouble one way or another before its over but that is up to the owners and they will do what they see fit. Till then like Lenny's shirt says "Raffle on Brother"

Please reveal to us the successful raffle whose cue was inflated by 40% in in its ticket prices? Every single time this complaint is made, a few of us have asked the question, and no answer is given. ONCE AGAIN - SHOW ME a SUCCESSFUL raffle whose combination of tickets put it at 40% over the value of the cue being raffled???? What Thread? What Post??
Here comes another generalization for those who seem to hate the raffles, but like generalizations - Too many ANTI-RAFFLERS like to complain under the guise that they are helping us poor, inexperienced AZB SUCKERS who do not know any better - SO PLEASE SHOW ME THE SUCCESSFUL RAFFLE THAT WAS 40% OVER VALUE OF THE CUE!!!!
If you can't provide one then I guess people on AZB are smarter than you think
- so stop calling raffle participants idiots. And spend your time more wisely. Your taking up too much front page For Sale Forum with BS that doesn't seem to hold true - We are smart enough to see through the charade. Give us more credit than you deserve.
I will be awaiting your answer to my questions - but I am not holding my breath.

Guess my cue was NOT well liked around here, but I really do not care. Made a trade that both parties will be happy with, and life goes on.
Quite a few raffles here that never go off, just as well as cues that never sell. Fact of life, and fact of the economy. Rather buy gas, and drive wherever I want, whenever I want. Can't ride a cue to work. And any cue off the wall can make you money

If there is a raffle and nobody played, then it will shut the cue flippers who gets their confidence from the very people of AZ who participate in the raffle.

I stated my opinion. If you think you are going to shout me down you are nuts. Believe it or not not everyone who buys in on these raffles is on the for sale forums 8 hours a day.
In all honesty I do not even open up the vast majority of raffle threads because I happen to not care for them and think they have become ridiculous and clog up the board. The only reason I opened Mr. Monto's is that I remembered the sh!t storm the last one caused and I was curious what the next one was gonna be. Plus I am a huge fan of Richard and his cues and look at them whenever I get the chance. So you are right I can't point to any succesful raffles over 40% because I cant point to any succesful raffles at all. Basically I just thought it was so bloody ridiculous I would do what I have never done before in over 2500 posts and say something in a for sale thread.
If I am the bad guy for that then so be it.

Not a bad guy just someone with an opinion ... Not everyone agrees with you of course but then we are individuals and are capable of making up our own minds, or at least most of us are. So for that reason the raffles will continue rather you agree or not. Just as sure as the gambling will here on AZ and the posting of the wrong material in the wrong threads. I honestly believe the raffles will die out they are starting to now ... But I also believe they will come back and will be off and on unless someone steps in to stop them... Just as the gambling has ... The only thing I have seen that the mods don't agree with is posting the wrong material in the wrong threads that is the only thing I have seen them take action on.That and some posters that needed to be banned....
And I have also seen some of these people that get on here and complain about the raffles turn around and get right in a raffle if the cue was nice enough ... I was kind of surprised at some of the names on the raffle thread of the Gina cue ...lol... Guess that was to tempting for some of the anti rafflers to pass up....
