What if you put a Predator Z-2 shaft and a Kamui Black tip on a Walmart stick?

I'm sure it would hit a "ton" !! Not sure why it would not shoot well. Heck, for most folks, just the new tip would suffice.

But I've never bought into the whole "his cues shoot amazing" type hype. I like custom cues for the way they look and the quality that goes into the nicest ones.

I put an OB shaft on all my cues.. can't tell the dfference between my Carmeli and my 1940's Willie Hoppe... same shaft and tip.... they are good to go..

I've only seen SportCraft cues in a Wal-Mart store.

I bought a couple of these a few years ago from the clearance rack for $3.00 apiece. I use them for bridge sticks for the home table. They were some real pieces of crap, but they work just fine with the "moosehead" on the end of them!!!

The folks at Schon say the butt is just as important as the shaft. And I would tend to agree. Why have any weak links in your chain?

Fatz

I would say you'd have a pos with too skinny of a shaft and an overpriced, high maintenance tip. Also the resale would be horrible, probably 65% of what you paid for just the shaft unless you robbed some poor sucker! Just my opinion.

Im willing to bet the farm that I could win the US Open with it. You should see my Popsicle break cue i have. 100% popsicle with a super hard Kamui black tip thats flat. Love that cue

What kind of stick would you have?

A stick where the top half was worth 10 times the amount as the bottom of it.

Evan at Schon told me the exact same thing. I found an Ebony cue I really like but it does not have the hit/sound/feel of a Schon, I called Schon and spoke to Evan about fitting one of their shafts to the Ebony cue, he told me the forearm, handle, and butt are as important to the hit as the shaft is. He was very friendly and informative, invited me to stop down with my cues (he is local) and talk some more which I intend to do in the near future. I haven't had the opportunity to hit many custom cues yet, especially cues like Black Boar, Tascarella, Szamboti, but if you never hit a Schon yet don't pass on trying one out.

Scion is a fantastic playing cue...especially the earlier Runde era cues. Play as well or even better than a lot of customs. You can't go wrong with one, even the newer ones. Joss is also a great playing affordable cue and so are those Dale Perry cues on eBay believe it or not!

Cool, I was wondering about those Dale Perry cues on Ebay

From what I remember..

If you don't mind a 50/50 chance of crappy quality, they're a good deal. I'd go with a used cue or a Players. Take my opinion with a grain of salt - see sig line.

This thread reminded me I have a Budweiser cue .
It's still in great shape and even rolls goods but is
missing the bumper .

Think I will take it to the hall today and hit a few with it !
