:sorry:

I've tried a lot of cues and always go back to Meucci.

Same here. I've played with a lot of other cues but I always come back to Meucci, I started playing with them and I got use to the way they play.

I know Meucci has had issues with quality controle, I own several Meuccis that should have never left the factory. With that said, they are really stepping their game up. I know a lot of people SAY they go by the factory in Byhalia, MS but I really do. I live in Mississippi and I got to the Meucci factory about 2-3 times a week to shoot with Bob Meucci and check on my cues that are being refinished. He is one of the nicest guys you'll meet (that has nothing to do with his cues. Nice or not there is no excuse for how bad Meucci cues have been in the past). Their quality in the past few months has really picked up. I have a BMC Candy Apple Red on the way now and I can't wait till I get it.

For the money IMHO I would say Meucci's Euro series, or the High Pro series are great cues. I shoot with a MEEX006 and break with a old Meucci (one of the dreaded Meuccis that everyone talkes about).

If you are going to order a cue online as much as I hate to say it stay away from Meucci, a few months of good work doesn't take back all the messed up cues that were put out, I'd go with a Joss they are a good solid stick with a good price tag.

If you are buying one in a pool room I give the Meucci a shot, I have found a lot of gems in all the bad one.

Now if JOSS could get a taper that wasn't tree-trunk like... It would be sweet!

Call them and ask for another taper when you buy.

Their standard taper is stiff, and their standard tip is over 13mm. Remember you can always take wood off but you can't put it back on.

Not everybody likes the JOSS taper, but that is true of any taper. Taper is like tips...if you don't like it, try another.

Dan Janes website shows many options. However If one buys from the many online sites 13.25 is standard.

I've owned Schmelke and McDermott previously, but I love my Mezz EC7 and it's a keeper.

The build quality is outstanding and the hit is crisp and firm, I love it. Well worth 600$ spent.

Older D series McDermott or a pechauer if you ask me.
A lot of people probably say schon, joss, or mezz. I have not hit with a mezz, but the certain cues i tried of the others, did not feel the best to me. I can say that I do not like the feel of a stainless joint, and the cues that I tried did have that style joint.

But either way, the best I've felt is the two I listed. I have an older d8 and d12 from McDermott that shoot extremely well. I also have a jacoby that shoot great. The pechauers feel very similar to the jacoby that's my main player!

I would second the Pechauer, and I have heard very good things about Mezz. JMO.

The balance and feel of Mezz cue are easily the best I have sampled.
Pechauers, mcdermott's or joss are not close at all..

As some people have said , the 80's mcdermott if your going used, but new I'd say pechauer pro series, or a Jacoby.

Depends on your opinion of a production cue. In terms of what i consider a true "production" cue, I would say in this order, Joss, Schone, Preditor. But the only one i would pay for is joss because they aren't insanely expensive. For the money on the other two you can get a nice custom that plays better and is cooler.

If you consider them production I would say OB cues makes one hell of a cue and the guys at OB are probably the coolest cue company out there. They support alot of pool stuff like TAR, different events, ETC. so it's nice to buy from a company that actually gives back to boot.

Best,

Justin

I am just curious how one would automatically consider JOSS a production cue and not OB when JOSS actually makes part of the OB line?

Just curious. I don't disagree that you named some very reasonable choices.

Now I have many references about the mass production cue, thanks to all of you. I have tested Schon STD 8, Mezz Exceed, Predator 5K-Ikon, Lucasi Hybrid and Custom, Players HXT and Fury NR Series. The Cuetec, Joss, McDermott, Pechauer and any top brand never reach my province, so my references just like a pocket book :).

hello samiun, i see you playing with H-Nung D'Cue custom. I have one too, butt only, snakewood and birdseye maple combination.

Yes I played with it after testing all top 3 cue maker in here (you may know their name). H-Nung D'Cue seems the best (and the best cue I ever played) so far, so I ordered my playing and jump cue from him. All of my friend in my pool room are attracted to his cue, so I ordered another cue from him. Mine are rosewood with maple and redwood point with abalone inside the point. :)
