I am interested to see the answers and this seems to be a very popular topic lately so what do you all think the best moderate priced playing cue is?

No doubt. Omen. I have a very elaborate six point, ivory, ringwork, etc. It's in the 2-24000 range. But I like my Omen player just as well. Solid, good touch, feel, right taper and nothing but the best of woods.

Then why are we goin'round again?

I believe the question has not been asked out right, most people specify brands and such. I believe this will be a useful tool for me and many others.

Thank You,

Thank You,

Are you asking about production cues or customs (and yes you can get a custom in your price range)?

Whatever you think is the best cue in that range are there production cues that are better than custom cues? etc..

I don't think you can answer this with any singularity....there are a number of great, inexpensive custom guys within this price range....and a ton of production cue makers that offer a solid, good-playing cue in this price range....

Personally, my money is on Wayne Robinson Customs, Ratcues, and Viking as my top 3, but that's only because I own them :D

You are just east of me. If you come this way, give me a call, stop by the shop, I will give you a tour, and we can discuss what you like in a cue, what you play, and what size table you play on, what weight you like, balance point, tips, etc. We can take a couple cues and try them out on my table to see what feels good to you. A good cuemaker can then build you a cue that is customized for you. I don't believe that "one size fits all" is appropriate for most players.

I wish a custom maker lived near me...Michael, this seems to be a good offer...I'd think about doing it if I were you. :)

I hear nothing but good things about Madden cues. I think you would be silly not to take Jack up on his offer..................
