What is the most Under Rated Cue?

I think that on a bell curve, AE cues are the highest quality and least appreciated cue today.

As far as under rated custom cues go,my opinion is that an Omen Cues are very under rated.
Beautiful styling
Beautiful workmanship
And the hit and playability are second to none.

People see my cue laying on a table or when I play, and I often get asked if it's a Southwest.

Lucasi and Players HXT are damn good playing cues for the money.

Lucasi makes some beautiful cues. But Players? My first cue was a Players and, though I've never tried their HXT line, the one I had was not impressive by any definition.

I might be biased

but I think Bob Owen's cues (Shurtz) are underrated. Bob puts out some great cues with a nice solid hit. I directly compared, at one time, my $1,100 Shurtz cue to a 'fancy' Southwest (valued at about $3200 then, more now), and the difference in hit was indistinguishable, but their was difference in balance, and I preferred my cue over the Southwest for balance.

I'll admit I have very little experience using different cues, but I have a Stealth (with the Dooley handle) that was a gift a few years back. Only cue I've ever had. I love it. Maybe it's just that I'm used to it, but it's a very comfortable cue and plays well. I'm a fan of the Dooley.

Why do you say that? My cues don't have uni-loc joints, but one I am considering buying does. So I'm curious as to why you say those joints are garbage?

Because someone else said it, obviously.

I've never had a problem with one and am impressed with how they play. Some may become loose, which is annoying, admittedly, but they play fine.

No one would buy anything if they took notice of opinions on this site, not least from those suffering with Predator envy.

AE is interesting. Nobody has anything negative to say about then, quite the contrary in fact, lots of raves for fit, finish and playability. Amazing how soft the secondary market is for them. If I was looking for a player in that class and wanted some value for my money, I'd totally consider buying a used AE.

i dont think 3,000.00 for a plain jane and the fact he has no problem selling them as fast as he makes them would be classed as underated.

Here is the deal. He doesn't make very many cues, so the cues he makes are in very, very high demand. I turned down $6,200 in cash for my PJ Searing Hoppe cue. I value the cue more than cash at this point. Even if I take the cash, I don't have the cue. Which is not replaceable to me. Dennis will go down as one of the very best cuemakers to ever live. In 10 years the cue will definitely be more valuable.

Which leads to my underrated comment comes from. Price is irrelevant.

This is just my view. I could be wrong, but I don't think so at this time.

I don't think you are wrong either.

What's the best ...?

What is your deal with all the 'what's the best'/ 'what's the worst' questions?

One with a little common sense would understand that there is no 'best', once there are choices established.

What's the best car? What's the best food? What's the best shoe...?

WTF?! There is no prize for starting the most threads.
