What is your favorite annual pool event to attend, and why?

I am curious to hear about what your personal favorite annual pool related event is, and the reasons as to why it is your favorite event of the year?

Second question is, what do you think is the most fun and interesting pool related event of the year?

If you live in the US, then hopefully you will be listing a US event.

I am curious what are all of the US annual events that you are most likely to see your favorite pro players at?

Please also list where the event takes place, and dates (if it is held at the same location and same dates of each year).

Thanks

Ocean State championship (off top of head, usually November 15thish?), because it's close to my house :)

Most interesting/intense is Mosconi Cup and probably U.S. Open. I would love to go to Derby, but it's too long and I own a business so I couldn't ever go for more than a day or two and it wouldn't be worth my time unless I could make a vacation out of it.

Steinway Classic (early Nov.?) is close enough to me and finals usually end up occurring on a weekend so that is where I have the best chance of seeing the most top pros in one place.

For me it's the SBE. Middle of April in Pennsylvania. It has so many combo's of things to do.

Derby...Nothing like it...it is Slower now that they moved to the Horse Shoe, but I still love it.

The ladies RTC is my favorite - you have to earn the right to be invited and you get to play with the BEST of all of the regional tours! Great competition and well run tournament - round robin followed by double elimination

Asia expat pool, an annual amature team pool event held in different south asian cities. Last year it was attended by seven asian cities.

Why? - sponsered event which usually cover air fare and hotels, tv table, professionally run tournament with referee. Very competitive event with good standard of pool. You will come across players from all part of globe. Top 2 players from each city qualifies for super singles event with total prize money of 4-5K. This is closest Amature can come to play pool as Pro :)

The Terry Stonier Memorial "Reunion" Tournament at The Jointed Cue, Sacramento.

We get to renew old acquaintances and participate/spectate in some great matches.

Should be coming up soon.

my favorite event is to shoot on my table in the den when somebody wants to play one pocket
why?

I don't have the energy to go out and get amongst them

Has to be the Super Billiards Expo.

The pro tournaments are great to watch. Men's 10 ball, women's 9 ball, one pocket and 3 cushion. It amazes me just how good they are and how easy they make it look.

All the vendors you could possibly want under one roof so you can find pretty much anything you want and talk to some of the best cue makers out there.

But the best part of it are the amateur tournaments that I can play in against some of the best amateur players in the country.

Can't go home disappointed after all that.

Attended the Mosconi Cup in December and it was awesome experience. Would love to go attend SBE and DCC.

Never seen a pro event live. Mosconi cup is on my bucket list. You can feel the tension even watching online

PA Moose States and Runkle's tournament in Hanover PA.

You get to play a team event, singles, and a doubles match.

So it's three tournaments all in one weekend.

If you win all three, then it's okay money.

My favorite event used to be the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship in Virginia. I was away from it for ~10 yrs and decided to run back up there in October of last year. It was not what it used to be: Different venue; Way different seating arrangements; Half the normal field; etc.

I hope to make the DCC my new favorite when I take my inaugural trip there next year..

If you can, go when it is in Europe. A thousand rabid Euros all doing the same chant is something to experience.
