What is your favorite match to watch over and over?

The one I can't seem to locate now. It was Corey Deuel 2001in the US Open 9 Ball finals beating Mika Immomen 11-0. This was his introduction of the soft break on the big stage and Corey was masterful. Such a classic. You could count the veins on Mika's forehead and probably fry an egg on it.

Accu-Stats sells that match on DVD #269b-16D.

Have probably watched Strickland vs Bustamante 2002 WPC more than any other.

Also really like Pagulayan vs Pei Wei Chang in 2004 WPC. Unknown kid with an odd stroke makes Alex sweat all the way...

Match

Mine is the 1992 Sands Regency 9 ball with Grady and Buddy. It's on Accu stats and has a player review by both of them. I always pick up something new when I watch it.

1992, Dallas West vs. Mike Zuglan, straight pool, Roosevelt Hotel, New York.

By the way, the same tournament that Mike Sigel ran 150 on Zuglan.

All the best,
WW

Davenport beating Earl in Reno in the early nineties at nine ball is the best rotation video for me.Not the biggest tourney but a great match and rivalry back in the 90's.

Sigel vs Ervolino (best commentary) or Shannon Daulton's first win of a Legends event against Mizerak are good picks for one pocket.

Lot of great 14.1 videos but I suppose Sigels 150 is the high standard.

Sang Lee's world win is probably as good as anything as well...no runs of 20 like today's players seem to keep doing, but a great match and an emotional win. Especially in retrospect with Sang's much too early death. Loved watching him play.

Shannon vs efren one pocket galveston world classic

Efren vs chris gentile 2011 just for the commentary

Wu chia ching first world 9 ball title, presssssure

3 fine choices.

I was gonna say the first.

I loved billy, Corey and Scott in the booth. Corey plays rainman, Scott plays the big brother and billy is the uncle who got them drunk for the first time.

Wu...16, *****es. Take summa dat.

Is there anyway to see more TAR matches than the ones on their Vimeo channel?

Send Justin Collett (JCIN) a PM here and a message on Facebook. If more people ask, maybe he will see the demand and post more matches. It seems like at least a year since he posted any.

I'm fascinated by this match because it's still hard to believe Mika was shut out. I've watched it close a number of times. In game 1 Corey snookers himself and then recovers with an amazing table length kick 7-9 combo. In game 2 Mika makes a 6-9 combo, but the CB hits the 8 and scratches. That's how the whole match goes. Corey plays great, but he does make some mistakes but always seems to get a jelly roll. Mika makes mistakes and gets stomped each time. Late in the match Mika has an open table. I'm thinking "Wait, I know he doesn't win a game, but how on Earth does he blow this runout... Doh!! Now I know!"

There are too many good matches
But the one I remembered in recent memory is World Cup of Pool 2015 (9ball winner breaks -Race to 10) final Taiwan v England B
It has all elements- drama, great shot making including shot of tournament, boo boo shots, see saw, winner finding way to win despite tonnes of dry breaks

:D

Keith McCready v. Ismael Paez, double-hill for the win, Buddy Hall and Kim Davenport commentating --> HERE

This is when pool players weren't afraid to show emotion, unlike today's emotionless tournament robots who play mum pool.

This one game will show you why Keith was KEITH! No one like him before or since!

Yeah, wouldn't it be fun to see Shane strutting around the table acting like Keith for just one match? Maybe he will do it for us on April fools or something.

look up "Ray Carlton" channel on youtube. He has a lot of good vintage matches.

I actually prefer to watch matches from the 90's than the recent ones. The ambiance was just different with the crowd and the commentators were entertaining and made it exciting.

Nothing like watching 'Django' have a pissy-fit melt-down over a clear foul and the 'Home Crowd' support him to the chagrin of Nigel Reece.

You can buy the DVDs from some retailers. I have seen a few left over in the wild at the Expo and USOpen and stuff like that.

Hopefully there isnt anyone uploading them anywhere for free.

Plus the price of them on the vimeo channel for the content you are getting is incredibly cheap, and you have the option of downloading the content as well instead of just watching it on the site.

Another one I've watched at least 4 times, is the Make it Happen 1 pocket from last year,

Danny Smith vs Efren Reyes first match. just some incredible 1 hole.

This is the one, that Billy Incardona said, was the best 1 pocket match he ever saw.

Let that sink in for a minute.
