What is your pool nickname?

Nickname

Mine, currently, is The Commish. I run the local ACS 8 ball league and folks started calling me the commissioner.

I've had worse. ;)

Atlanta Chuck... LOL

Was given to me by a group of league friends after I moved back from Atlanta. Then the pool hall we went to closed up, stopped going to league and the name went to the way side. Was pretty funny walking in and everyone saying "Hey Atlanta..."

What is your pool nickname and explain how you got it.

I own and operate a pool room, pro-shop and retail store. I am always working on one of my lathes and I frequently am slightly covered in dust.

Due to this the locals started calling me the Termite, it could be worst!!!!

Manwon

I've got a couple but the main one s "the cat". I think its because my initials spell cat plus the fact that i have the ability to fall asleep anywhere, lol.

When I had my own room the guys there gave me the nick of "rabbit" because I just about ran around the table to the next shot. I did a lot of speed back then too.

I also was called "The wet head" for awhile. When I played long sets of straight I would take a break and wet my hair and recomb it. It seemed to refresh me. Of course I popped something while in the bathroom too.

As I got older they called me JohnnyT or just JT in most bars and poolrooms. Johnnyt

nickname

Mine is houseman, because, thats what I am at my pool room.
Used to be Great Scott in my younger days for my last name.

My x had a few choice nickmnames for me to.

Because of his two-fisted approach to certain situations, my Uncle was known as Deuce. So, Tizzie, the guy who owned the poolroom in my home town started to call me Ace and it sort of stuck.

I've been called "Maniac" in all things I've done in my life. I got the tag in my youth when I was a wild, semi-crazed lad that would do almost anything to get a laugh out of someone (and sober too!!!). I think of myself in my youth whenever I hear the joke, Question: What's the last words out of a redneck's mouth. Answer: Hey fellas, watch this!

Maniac

Mine is Professor. I got it on my first road trip to New York, where me and my boys were staying in a friend's apartment in Brooklyn (translated, that means she is from the West Indies too-Trinidad in particular), and she started calling me Professor because of my glasses, my books and my laptop. On about our fourth night there (we stayed for two weeks), after getting about 10 hours sleep during that time, I was in action in Chelsea and practically reeling around the table. The woman, who was there to sweat the action with us that night, said, in the inimitable Trinidadian style, "It look like de Professor tired, boy!" Some other players in the room heard the comment and it stuck. To this day, Spanish Pete will tease me with, "De Professor tired, boy!" and we both crack up laughing.

i have a couple... "the filipino heat" and "besus"... the latter, someone came up with the idea of substituting the j in jesus with the 1st letter of my 1st name. how people come up with stuff like that, i don't know....

"Shooter" or "Shoots" because my last name is pronounced "shooter"...unique i know.

I get confused when people call me a good shooter when I play pool.

"the Pool Detective"

People in my local pool hall, the Golden Cue, here in Albany NY started calling me the Pool Detective many years ago. For some :D silly :D reason they have come to believe that i just may know  a little of what is going on now and in the past in the pool industry. ie:...info on cues, some old time players..,14.1..., and maybe some 3 cushion....Maybe they get it from my going to tournaments and meeting new people and because i visit so many pool related sites during a typical day.....who knows..... maybe it is just because i just don't shut up and because i have to know everything going on, It has just stuck with me....mike

P.S...I got the name cueball many many years ago from being on the CB radio... when i came to the pool sites that name was taken so i just added the 1950 for the year of my glorious birth. ;) ....yeah right.....mike

For awhile I was known as doggystyle at my room...for my tendancy to be losing matches by huge defecits and coming from behind to win.
