What Kind of Chalk Does Jayson Shaw Use?

Sounds like you play in a rough league.
Hardly... just a very busy one, and shit happens.

The point is that I currently give away the chalk I use now. Switching gears to having to keep an eye on it. Isn't something I think I want to bother with. ...especially for no gain.

For league night? Whatever. Use whatever you like. But on your own table? I play an entire night, 6+ hours, and my hands are as clean as when I started. With master, kamui, blue diamond, and most others, 20 minutes and my hands are already getting filthy. The cleanliness of Taom chalk can’t be overstated.
Maybe I make more of a habit to wash my hands, so I just don't notice how horrible my current chalk situation is.

You do make a good point for only using it at home though. Still can't wrap my head around the price. If it meant never needing to ever clean my table then sure. However we all know that's not the case.

The cleanliness really boils down to application frequency.

No - it really doesn't. I chalk pretty much every shot. Most likely way more than I need to. My table, balls, and hands stay as clean as can be.

A friend came over a couple of weeks ago to play, I told him he couldn't use his Predator chalk. He grumbled a bit. Used the Taom. Couple of hours later he is the one who commented on how clean his hands were.

If you have a home table, I can't highly recommend this enough. I mean it's like $20. And seems to last forever - I said I was expecting to get 18 months out of one, but I'm thinking 2 years isn't out of the question. I'm almost 6 months in on my first and I've barely made a dent.

Perhaps one of the most overlooked aspects of this 714 run is that I never witnessed Jason request to have either the object balls cleaned or the cue ball marked and cleaned. Compare that to other previous players. If that’s not a testament as to the quality of this Taom chalk and how it can prevent potential chalk marks and skids, I don’t know what it is!
During one of Jayson's attempts, he missed an easy shot into the right side pocket, then he immediately started examining the cue ball. It was clear he thought a skid caused the miss.

Nice... I won't bother attempting to jump into the physics of this. I just was lead to believe that the Toam product worked so well that frequent chalking was not required. Using less chalk on tip = less chalk on table.

Officially I'm still on the fence. I am one of those weird types that thinks chalk should be square. Probably would be an easier sell if the Toam product was in that shape. I know that's hard to believe...lol.

Guess I need to find someone with a 'not'-cube of this stuff and give it a try.

Everytime i hear Taom i think of the guy at poolhall that dropped his a couple times and had to chase it down the floor. Stuff rolls like a cueball. ;) I tried it and yeah its sorta expensive but for me the shape is just wrong. My hand is just too used cubes.
Agreed.

Ok. I was looking at Cuestik.com. I should check out the mainstream sites too. Thanks.
I checked direct from the manufacturer the Pyro and V10 are the same but the 2.0 is 1euro cheaper. I haven't seen many other places like Seybert or Pooldawg that had any stock of V10

On the podcast Jayson talks about skids on the attempts. He said there were 2 skids the entire time, and then backtracked that the second one probably wasn't really one (he thought balls were frozen but they weren't). That means in 5 days and likely 5000+ balls pocketed he had one freaking skid. That's insane. And he was only chalking once a rack, dropping something like almost 5 balls a minute.

You bet your ass I just went out and bought some taom.

Where did you find. Both PoolDawg, and Syberts are sold out.

I've used Pyro exclusively on my table the last 18 months or so. I still vacuum occasionally to get lint and other debris off my table. But the vacuum filter never looks blue like it did when I used Masters. Nor do my shafts stain. I don't play well enough to notice any difference in performance, but the Taom certainly looks like it stays on the tip longer and doesn't leave any mark on the cueball.

I don't like how they are prone to rolling away at the worst possible times, but you can get a holder to fix that (I sell wood and plastic ones in the for sale section.) Or you can wrap tape around the cylinder.

Taom chalk is allright to use, apart from it being round. I got a promotional piece at a big tournament and it slipped out of my hand and rolled across the venue. Make square chalk, please.

Think your dreaming, round stuff sells well.

The cost of tooling up
for Cubes, is expensive.
