My o my... Drivermaker, whoever you are, I'm not interested in your banter. You can make threats and apparently get away with it here, so I'm outa here... Not coming back... In my view, this chatboard just ceased to be a relatively friendly place. I hope the administrators of AZbilliards read this, as from now on I'll not mention this site to friends, and will, if asked, tell them my opinion of it.

What?

Having reread Drivermaker's post trashing me for no good reason, making baseless accusations, and threatening me like this, I'll not post any further on here, and won't hesitate to tell anybody I meet in pool rooms or wherever that this is a website that unfortunately it is best to avoid posting on. Posts like Drivermaker's have opened my eyes to the reality of what others before me have said about posting on these forums. Is it an option for me just to ignore Drivermaker? Of course it is, but I don't want to be around this kind of thing. Life is too short...

I wish you all well.

Bye, Tom/Brooklyn

Hey APA 7 does that mean you think Flex is really Tom/Brooklyn?

But then how would you know unless you are privy to the ISP code. And only Mike knows that.

I see a conspiracy theory here somewhere LOL... Geesh... Where is WW? LOL

Note for the serious posters: I don't see a conspiracy, just a lot of people that want to see a conspiracy...lol.

(1) They publish IP addresses. Some of the posters who work for top secret organizations cannot afford to have their IPs publized, which the IDIOTS on CCB don't understand nor care about.
You never argued that as your argument, you just always said people can find out stuff about you and steal your identity from your IP address. You were even challenged to post what you found out about people. Nothing!

If you're worried that folks will find out where you work, then don't post from work. Actually do work when you're at work. They're not paying you to browse around the pool forums, are they? If so, I want that job!

(2) It is way way way too cluby. For example I mentioned the stroke trainer on there and got laughed out of the place.
No, that's not true. Here's the post, albiet without your originating text:

(3) It has become uninteresting with DULL DULL subjects and no flaming. Everyone is so nice to each other it makes me want to puke.
Oh my god! Civil discourse about pool and pool related topics without flaming and flame wars! Will wonders never cease! There's actually some people who don't like to waste their time reading people being stupid asses insulting each other! I hate it when I get sucked into reading another one of those here again...

(4) Clubby for another reason: CCB claims no advertising on the forum. So the owner of the stroke trainer was asked by another poster to put his web address on a post so that he could research the product. And what does CCB do - they threaten to kick him off.
The members can't control the admin. Admittedly, the admin at CCB is a bit heavy handed at times.

I have a feeling that there is someting politcal going on behind the scenes. Oh what the hell - I know it is from talking to Fast Larry.
That's because you're insane with conspiracy theories! :)

I wrote the ccb admin months ago about the posting of ips, and the problems it could possibly create for them to consider, which had nothing to do with subsequent posts you refer to.

Mike does not post ips here, so he made a different decision. I know from history why the ips were put on ccb, however, and it is their forum, not mine. They are under no obligation to do what I want.

The way i see it is ccb is ccb and az is az. I do not see one as better than the other. They are just different. Thank God for that!!! It is better to have two good forums which are different, with their own personalities. If two things are just alike, one is unneeded.

Also, once a forum goes from unmoderated to moderated, there is a fine line separating it from what some perceive as too much moderation and maintaining some semblance of sanity on the forum. Being an administrator is no easy task and no matter how you handle it, some will say you are moderating too much and others will say you are not moderating enough. They are just trying to do a hard job, often being paid little if any for the abuse they get.

I do not go onto the forums to try to get into a particular 'club' so do not care if people are 'clubby',if i understand that word correctly as like a 'clique'. Oh brother. I like to do what I want or say what I want so why should I care if others like a 'clubby' alliance, when it has nothing to do with me. Geez.

I already did my pool practice for today, and it is too late already, and things are starting to look silly, so good night to all.

I post here and on the ccb. The CCB is where I got started with online forums so it's my "home" but I'm getting more and more accustomed to the this format and to the people here and enjoying it here. I don't like flaming. People who talk that way to each other in person end up starting something were people get physically hurt and I just can't see the upside to being that way. When I sense danger I split before the bullets start flying :)

CCb still doesn't seem too interested in my pool discussion.
When I post the thread ends but I have had a lot of
fun on their non- pool discussion. Not nearly as clubby,
so I mainly post there. They don't cut you any slack,
however.

how did you get so paranoid?

why don't you come to the Open next year. you'll find out we're all pretty normal folks. like andy and barney :)

CCB clubby? What does that mean?

Hey Hondo,

When I first got on ccb and would bring up a topic, I often found out from other posters, that that topic had been discussed at length many times. Some of them had been on ccb a long time and knew not only which ones had been thoroughly discussed but where to find them in the archives.

It took me a year or two to see this. That the same old topics came up over and over again, usually once a year, for ex-the zone, or do you look at the ob last, or various things about strokes, bridges, stances, chalks, and tips. It only makes sense that after seeing the same topic several times, many posters are not interested in it and unless it is presented with a different twist than before, it may not generate a lot of interest.

As far as posts not being responded to, many of mine are not either. I have learned to check my motives. When I was looking at others responding as some way of validating my worth, it bothered me when they did not respond. Now, I respond or post if I have something to say,so it does not matter if anyone responds. Also, lack of responses to your posts does not mean that it was not read and it does not mean that people did not like what they read. Also there are lots reading and not posting, so you may be helping someone you do not know and will never meet..

As far as what you call clubby---No matter where you go on forums, churches, you will find those who have been there a long time, know each other well, and do not know you(any newcomer). You are an outsider to them until they get to know you and they seem 'clubby' to you. Some 'clubbiness' is a clique, with expectations of doing certain things etc, but sometimes it is only apparent 'clubbiness'. On CCB, there are some of these 'so called clubbies', that I have become friends with over time. These are people who have been there a long time and it took them awhile to decide they could trust me. Also, they have get togethers and some have met in person, where I have met only one or two, which also makes it hard to get to know people.

For ex- I just joined this church. All of the people are nice but they know each other well and have formed friendships and they do not yet know me. In this case, there is not a clique, but to some who are shy, they may come to that conclusion. It is an illusion, an apparent 'clubbiness'. To me, being extraverted, I see I have to make the first move to get to know them.

AZ-When Mike put up this forum we have, to replace the old primitive solftware, everyone had to reregister, so I was on here in the beginning. There were at first a few of us, so everyone knows me and I did not have to go through a one to two year period of 'fitting in'. So I was sort of in the same situation here as the 50 or so who first joined ccb and knew each other well. So, considering how popular AZ is getting, 5 years from now, will people think that there is this exclusive club and I am in it and those of us who were here first are 'clubby'? Interesting thought. LOL

Laura--->dont post as bluewolf anymore, it was time for the wolves to sleep

WW: I know for a fact that Yapping Wolf has sent viruses to people and has given them prank phone calls and brought down web sites.

Why keep bringing up yap? I never heard of the person taking down websites, and as far as the people who got viruses, where they came from cannot be proven. The person(s) who stalked me for my first year on the forums no longer bothers me, but nor do I like the memory of it constantly being thrown up in my face. Also, this occurred across unmoderated forums where you could put in any name you want for most of that time anyway.

It is really way past time to let all of the wolfies go to sleep.

WW

Time to throw out the garbage. Reading this stuff made me sick to my stomach, including the parts I did not respond to, and responding at all was, I am sure, a waste of time. And I come on az for fun not to read this kind of garbage-so I probably need a break, go play pool, take tai chi, anywhere...

Funny that the same idiots who own CCB also own AZ. Go figure. Maybe someone on AZ is too lazy to have the IPs posted, or they can't afford anyone to do the task.

The CCB is owned by Billiards Digest. I own AzB and no one owns me. (Well, my girlfriend might argue that fact)

The IPs are not posted here because I don't think they need to be public. I can look them up when I need to. The IPs being displayed on CCB is a Billiards Digest decision.

(see Mike, you aren't all bad after all as long as you quit posting as APA7 LOL).

I promise, I will never post another message as APA7. :)

Let me give a hypothetical possibility, and I am not stating that this is true in any way shape or form: one of the owners of CCB is a lesbian and Fast Larry blasts gays all day long and then some, to such an extent that he gets the big ole boot.

I assure you that none of the 'owners' of CCB are lesbian. I know most all of the players at Billiards Digest and I am pretty sure I know who Larry is accusing of being lesbian. She is not. (as if it were any of anyone's business)

Remember, APA7 has been exposed to some degree as MIKE. Yes, he does know the ISP codes.

And BTW Mike, I can feel for you having to read all of this nonsence and not being able to post cutting comments in alias form. It would be just too tempting. Just don't mess with Bluewolf is all I ask. You can mess with me as much as you like because I don't give a $hit.

You are right. It is killing me to not be able to post comments as APA7. It always has.

Havn't you figured out yet that I am really all of the other people on this forum?

Hey Mike, since you're me and all, could you give me some contact information? I'd like to be able to direct the folks who are always down my back towards your direction. Thanx. :D

On the CCB discussion: I like the CCB alot. I also like AZ alot. Both boards offer different things for me. I do not post on these boards in search of some high school type acceptance. If people are friendlier with some people more so than others, who cares? I tolerate my friends more so than I do complete strangers. My friends also "get me", and know when I'm goofing around and when I'm being serious. I have met many wonderful people on both of these boards, some in person, and some just in cyber space. Would I call them friends? Maybe to some degree. Would I give 'em the keys to my car and say, "Here, take a spin"? I doubt it. These boards are really a cure for my boredom problem...and I have fun. It is nice to talk with folks who are interested in some of the same things I am and to debate with (yay NPR forum on CCB!!!!) But I would never come on here trying to "fit in" like a freshman in high school. I am here for me and no one else. If I form new friendships along the way, then that is a bonus. But really, who cares if a bunch of internet dorks like me or not? Is it really going to ruin your day if I say I don't like you? All message boards should be taken for what they are, people seeking information, people goofing off, and/or people bragging. If you are just here looking for companionship, then go to the pool hall.

Just my $0.03...cash it in or throw it out...just keep in mind there are some poor poor folks out there that could really use it.

In certain ways we're probably all pimps and suckers...everbody just doesn't own a caddy with gold and a big hat with feathers. You're soooo lucky!!
