What Type Of Vehicle Do You Use?

Staying in line with the recent stream of questions let's see what everyone is driving. I would like to see if anyone uses a box truck or are we all mostly using vans. I have tended to used Chevy Express Vans, currently mine has 240k miles on it.

Chris...I hate to rain on your parade buddy...but this exact question has been asked a while back....I think by either OTLB or Dartman...not sure which.

I drive a 2009 Ford Mustang... I can fit a couple of those tiny "executive" pool table desk toys in the trunk :)

Sorry, couldn't resist :)

Am a Ford Retiree. If anyone is interested I may be able to get you a discount that is available thru employees to promote the product, increase sales, and gain new customers.

When ready give me a PM and I will obtain a code to give to the dealer. Can't make the code public as they are issued for one time use for each individual protential buyer.

I get my truckr out of the shop today....$4,015.00 worth of repairs later....and I just wanted to change the oil:yikes:

Chris, this is my set up. 8-foot bed with locking cover. I will be getting a new one when I reach 250k hopefully. I'm considering a van, I have rented van's, but I like having my phone conversion while driving and there just so loud. I never tried pulling a trailer with a van, I imagine the visiblility is better with the truck. I have a pulley system in my garage so I can take the cover off by myself. The van seems nice and not sure what I'll get next.

I use a chevy express cargo van with 180k on it looking to get to 250k than get another one i use my phone alot to when driving and it is loud but worth it i've used trucks with caps in the past and like the convenience that comes with a van

Several years ago when gas started going up high I bought this XB for service work, estimates etc and just use the van for moving tables only. The Van is my third one and has worked great. The XB averages over 30 MPG and the van gets 24 MPG on the highway. Advertising on your vehicle works very well and pays for itself many times over.

07' E-350 Extended Passenger Van

I am partial to the Ford Extended Passenger vans with the seats removed of course. The interior of the van is carpeted wall to wall and insulated so they are very quiet inside. Plus I have the front and rear AC and heat. They are very comfortable to drive. This van has 140,000 miles on it and gets on average 13 mpg. I had a 99' that is still running great with 350,000. Bob DeTurk is running that van as a second work vehicle. I buy my vans used and seem to save a ton of money that way. I also have an enclosed 7' x 14' trailer w/ramp door.

I don't use a bluetooth but its not illegal to talk on phone while driving in ohio i don't think? I can see it being a bit loud for the speakerphone but putting something up behind the seats to separate the back and front helps with sound big time. Regular phone use is no problem with the sound.

I use a f150 supercrew pickup 5 foot bed with custom work shell. It will hold gc completly inside anframe outside on ladder rack. It used to be my cableguy truck but now im back fulltime to tables and loving it again. Looking for something new but time will tell.

Ford e-350 extended cargo van

I have been working out of a windowless cargo van for about the last 15 years. I built a shelf "platform" the full length of the cargo area and i slide the 3 piece slates under the shelf in the back and my tools under the shelf through the side door, so the table frame, legs , aprons and rails ride by themselves on top of the padded and carpeted shelf.

For 1 piece slates or coin-op moves i rent a trailer.

I just drove 3000 miles to texas with an open trailer with a diamond 1 piece 9 foot slate and got 14.8 mpg going 75 mph. On the way back i picked up 2 8 foot coin-ops and got 11.5mpg. Not too bad!!!
